If Veigar must be changed, Give him a new W

Because as it stands he will no longer be able to complete his burst rotation with E being the way it is. You basically turned him into a less mobile more squishy Nidalee.

except with his R nerf his ult now has a pretty large chunk of damage missing. 20% less damage...That's a large number in terms of league of legends balance.

What I mean by nidalee is he becomes like her in the sense of throwing spears until you hit then proceed to use your spell rotation.

Or atleast speed up the drop his W has. Make it so it'll actually fall before the game ends.

Do you have a recommendation as to a change that could be made?

I honestly don't have an idea what would replace his W as it's always been a staple in his kit requiring his E stun to be landed in order go nail a hit ( or an enemy who isn't paying attention or is just not...altogether) It's hard to give an idea of what to replace it with, without his whole kit needing a rework to work around the delayed stun. But IMo it needs to be replaced with a sort of slow that could be used to set up the stun. While keeping him balanced.

A few ideas roll off the top of my head. You could keep the same mechanic of dropping his W as a falling nuke, but make it work as a Vi mechanic. It shows an indicator on the ground that slowly grows larger overtime until it gets to it's max size and drops. Dealing maybe 20% extra damage as it's fullsize to compensate for the loss of his 20% off his ult. which would make his cage actually work as a cage and building fear like it's supposed to do. Keep the scaling 1:1 that increases to 1:2 at max size. of course activating the skill again will make it drop when you command it to.

The idea is interesting. However, this ability fails to solve the problem of E being harder to hit. Also, think a second.

Do you really... REALLY... Want to give Veigar a 2.0 AP ratio?

Sorry I didn't mean to type 1:2 I meant to type 1.2 scaling. So basically what his ult used to be. So I say to make it fair his instant drop should be .75 scaling and goes up to 1.2 when it's at max. His E is harder to hit but this would make it to where if you can trap someone inside you can essentially fill it with a fully charged W

Oh okay, I see what you mean here. This idea makes sense to me.

IMO it would add alot more uses to E instead of a delayed stun/ zone tool. You could actually use it as a cage as per riot said is intended to be it's real purpose. So essentially you could start a W in an area then lock someone in the cage and let them get hit which would require good timing and good positioning on both the enemy and Veigar himself.
