While they do have limited utility, you have barely mentioned any utility, but their tankiness and damage. Utility helps the team, such as Darius' pull, Garen's silence, Skarner's E and R, and Morde's W. None of these compare to, say, a Nautilus with his Q, E, R, and passive, or Gragas with his Q, E, and R.

+ = 55% of the target's armor going AFK
Plus, since black cleaver reduces armor and a lot of rammus's and now thornmail's damage comes from his/it's armor ratios so black cleaver reduces the total damage rammus would deal by around 10~15%

Rammus new armour value against damage from people with LW= 215

But if you look in the match history, Rengar had 320-350 damage and near 100% crit. 500 armour is 85-90% resist.
So OP is in fact wrong, Rengar did not shred Rammus as he would have 200 or so ad from passive and be reflecting 125 + 80-110 damage every time Rengar hit him + Rammus AA (this is not counting Rammus W which deals damage too) Rammus would bend Rengar over and show him who's boss.
OP is just making up bull, but the guy above is correct those two items technically reduce your armour by 55% or so.

I've made once a tank yi (i know its not best example) with 300 armor (thornmail, FH, Omen) and decent health pool, i prepared myself as soon i see rengar ult mark. He jumps on me, i use W with 65% damage reduction, 300 armor and i just.. dissapeared instantly, like i dont have any damage reduction at all.
Even allistar with his ult doesent last much longer, im sure everyone have seen renag tearing entire team apart right after he one shots adc.
I got feeling like his ult has a bug that gives him 100% armor and shield penetration or something.
Or this champ is just retarded in general..

Less we forget that Rammus gets a massive armor steroid on his defensive curl. He was marking in roughly 515 armor with his power ball, and why in the hell are you saying all he had was thornmail? you're the one exaggerating, he has randuins and frozen heart combined with his defense curl. So if you plan on giving an example you need to point out facts.
And you're talking about the wrong game btw, the game where he lost as Rammus not won.

The Rammus against Hansol had Thornmail, Randuin's and Frozen Heart, which, adding DBC, is very much enough to reach 500 Armor. Rammus was full build in that game.
Now whether or not OP was exaggerating, that's another issue entirely, but yeah, just wanted to give you a heads up.

He survived about 6 seconds. That's all survival does these days, penetration has been buffed, defenses have been nerfed, even thornmail is crappy now unless vs a full ad team and you are the tank, but only because they are full ad

With Rammus' Items combined with his Defensive curl he had 500. That is normal amounts for Rammus.

Also a lot of people don't understand that Mr and armor mean little without health.
Plus 1 on 1 dps will beat the piss out of a tank. The tank's job is to survive long enough for the threar to die.

was jumping on me and 100-0 in around 1 second when we were both max level and full build. Yes, the Rengar was fed by late game, but once everyone's level 18 and full build, it shouldn't matter much anymore.
My build was: 
Another bitch I had about this game is that I killed Yasuo in lane at least 5 times and another 3-5 times throughout mid game. He ended up 13/21/18 by doing nothing other than following Nautilus around and mashing R. He couldn't land a Q to save his life, and he was obliterated in lane. But it doesn't matter when you can mash R and get fed for doing nothing.

Which leads to my other point, Rengar doesn't have ult at level one, nor armor penetration. As such, because Rammus takes ~95% reduced damage with 500 armor, not counting the Thornmail damage and his W, it would be impossible for a level 1 Rengar to outduel a Rammus with 500 armor.
