Nocturne is better as a top laner.
Run Conq, Overheal, Alacrity, and Celerity as core runes. Manaflowband/Gathering storm interchangeable(Better off with manaflow).
Who he beats 1v1 in lane phase: Darius Garen Camille Irelia Jax Vlad Mundo Fiora Singed Illaoi(run away from her ult) Beats these champs by a landslide.
Trynd=Noct, matchup snowballs one way or the other depending on jungle presence. GP vs Noct just ends up being a passive lane, where you take harass, but are still able to CS to 100% capacity. GP cant go in on you. A good Renekton will beat you via resource starvation. Teemo is an annoying lane that youll win, but still hate your life. Quinn is an annoying lane that youll probably equal out on- You can all in her, but she can stop you from CSing. New Aatrox is awful, but beats the crap out of Noct in lane, I would suggest banning Aatrox as you can not avoid his damage and his damage is tuned to be avoided, so when you cant avoid it....you aren't going to have a good day.
The free damage from Q trail, Conq, E move speed on horrify, and Celerity is overwhelming for practically every top lane champ. Were talking like, 150AD at lvl 3, 20% of it being true damage. On top of huge amounts of free attack speed baked into his W. Post level 6, youll still be winning every duel, conserve your ult for when they flash away.
Item build is- Phage Guinsoos or botrk second(situational priority) Guinsoos or botrk third(situational priority) Ninja Tabi/Mercs(Situational) Complete Black Cleaver. All items after this point are interchangable and situational.
Stormrazor Steraks Titanic Hydra Frozen Mallet Deaths Dance(Need a second lifesteal item if you want to solo Baron)- So Deaths Dance would be your go-to for that. GA. Essence Reaver(Id only build this in extreme cases of endgame, when its time to sell your boots).
Easily the fastest tower smasher in the game and fastest wave clear. No need for Tiamats.
FearBunnie is my Nocturne only account, if looking for credentials. Something like 65% win rate 100 games. Plat.
