I'm kinda confused how Pyke is going to function as a Support

Title. Can someone explain how he is better than other supports? He might as well go top lane, since he is going to be building health/AD items anyways like Black Cleaver.

He'll be kind of like Bard, roaming fast and setting up kills.

He seems like he'll appeal to autofill assassin mains, people who don't want to babysit the ADC 24/7, and people who just like killing.

He wont be viable top, he cant build hp (it converts into attack damage). Juggernauts and other Skirmishers will one shot him in top lane. He cant Jungle, his clear speed is not healthy and too slow. The only place he might be able to go outside of botlane would be mid.

He can't build health for the life of him. You absolutely do NOT want to have him as a top laner. He's not a real assassin and doesn't have any actual burst, so think he can carry games by murdering everyone.

He's not better than other supports, he's a different playstyle.

If you are against a Rengar for example, Janna and Lulu are good because they basically negate Rengars burst and can interrupt his jump. However, that doesn't mean that Thresh is horrible vs Rengar, it just means you have to play Thresh well to negate Rengar's burst.

Each support is a different playstyle. I am really good with poke supports because I'm good at landing skill shots and I can position decently well, so stuff like Soraka, Zyra, Karma, Morgana are good champions for me. I don't need to rely on my ADC as much because I can just stand beside them and throw out poke every once in a while or shield them if they eat poke.

Then you have engage supports like Leona, who I'm not great at because I can't just poke. If I hit a Leona E, I know I'm in that teamfight, and I'm really bad at knowing how much damage I can sustain without dying. Not to mention if I think we can win, but my ADC doesn't want to fight it, now I'm alone in the enemy bot lane being beaten on by both of them .

If you normally main tanky champions, then Leona or Alistar is probably a great fit for you when you get autofilled support, because it fits into your normal playstyle.

If you normally main mage champions, then Zyra or Morgana is probably a great fit because it's a similar playstyle.

If you normally main assassins, well, now Pyke will be great fit because he's an assassin (which fits your normal playstle) while providing CC (always useful regardless of gold/items) who earns his team more gold for kill stealing (something that ADCs whine about).
