Riven should've been directly nerfed. Trying to force a perfect counter on her is just bad balancing

First, let's make something clear: The whole and only reason got that W buff (anti-shield) was so he could become a direct and terribly efficient counter to two of the most problematic toplaners at the moment, and . Renekton was actually one of the few toplaners who were doing great by themselves without being in the insanely overpowered group (which is quite something since he was/is one of the best users in the game), I would even say he is the ONLY non-ranged lane bully who can be used as a safe first pick, so he didn't need any buff at all, perhaps he even deserved some nerfs. Morde got nerfed at the same time, so he should be quite less problematic than before for everyone else without anti-shields too.

But Riven? She'll stay insanely busted against the very vast majority of the toplane meta if she doesn't get any direct nerf. She'll just struggle against this one particular champ who's been literally buffed to win against her SPECIFICALLY. This just encourages the counter-pick toplane meta that everyone has been complaining about for months and months, where if YOU pick a certain champion before the opponent toplaner, you WILL get counterpicked and get your chances of winning AND your general appreciation of your laning phase or even of the whole game incredibly lowered.

How can you make the situation worse every single time with each changes Riot? Why do you force bad and increasingly complex changes in the game when a massive amount of people from the community advices you to take the simplest yet most effective changes? Why are you so reticient to nerf certain champions? You have a very bad habit to buff things to win against other busted ones, making the amount of balance problems increase over the time. This doesn't evne limit itself at toplane either: Literally every single season ever since S6 you tend to buff the hell out of perfectly fine ADCs instead of nerfing the problematic ones, resulting into a botlane balance apocalypse every.single.season.
