I actually think the skarner rework was a success.
Maybe on release his numbers were to high, but compared to his pre-juggernaut rework kit I actually feel like he is more fun to play.

You're probably like the only one who thinks his new kit is a success, because even Riot has stated that he is considered a failure.
While yes, he is more engaging, he's also severely hamstringed by his crystals. He has to be near them to be at full potential, and if you're laning, this leads to problems. A champion should not be so utterly reliant on stationary terrain markers they cannot position in order to be played effectively, it's as simple as that. Coupled with the fact that both teams have to make efforts to take and retake the crystals, and it just makes his passive way too micro-managing and pulls too many players into determining his well being. It's just plain bad design.
By that logic, even kindred has too much "micro-managing" in his passive to take care off, but he is still a fun champ to play.
Also he is not stuck to his crystals, they do help his clears but even outside them he has respectable power and hitting an enemy with E(+auto) will give you the same boosts as a crystal even though its temporary.
I never said this rework was flawless. Yes , it does have it's flaws, but if you look at how his kit was before his rework you will see what I mean. I would take the current skarner anyday.
I feel they can tweak his passive...
Besides, he isn't the only micro managing champ... Look at Illaoi. She is stronger near her tantacles and Zyra is strongest when by her seeds.
But they randomly spawn what they need so Skarner's is kinda restricting.
And I don't really see Skarner as a Juggernaut.. I feel he is more of a Warden.
I shall explain why he is more of a Warden to me...
First off, his story tells of how he fought against a threat to his sleeping people.
Secondly, his kit... He has abilities that help boost his defenses, slow his target, and drag a for to their death or away from his ally.
I actually feel they could do some better work with his abilities by taking some cues from his story and making him a sort of protector or bruiser.

Illaoi and Zyra aren't at all similar. They spawn pets that they use, Skarner has to be near his crystals to be relevant. The enemy team who isn't engaged with Skarner has to hinder him by taking the crystals on certain objectives. Allies near crystal points on objectives Skarner needs can take those points so Skarner can clear faster. Skarner just includes the everybody in managing his passive, and that's what makes him micromanagement for both teams. Only the enemies in direct contact with Illaoi or Zyra have to be wary and work around their pets.
If you actually read my post you would've seen where I put how Illaoi and zyra were different from Skarner..
If you won't read a post thoroughly, don't comment on it.
It was a success, making him strong while not too opressive. And then they reworked him again in Juggernaut update.
not at all, AP-skarner top will always be in our hearts.
runic echo skarner jungle incoming?
I agree as well, but I think we have to resign our selves to being the only 2 out there.
was really good too
My biggest complaint with Skarner is that the most notable part of his passive is exclusively geared toward him being in the jungle. I understand that he is meant to be a jungle champion, but this just feels a little, wrong...
While in lane, he still gets the CRYSTAL CHARGE portion of his passive while he has an enemy stunned by his E, or suppressed by his ultimate, but it is nowhere near as much of a benefit.
In fact, it could be argued that his jungler, and even his enemy jungler, gets a more significant benefit from the capture gold and vision granted from his spires.
His passive is stupid. Way too strong in the Jungle. Plus I don't like mini games. I'm the kind of person who only played mini games in RPGs as required to advance the plot, and did so grudgingly, disliking every moment. Now, add a fucking mini game to League with those damn Towers and see if I don't dodge every time Skarner is picked.
Because if he isn't present In a specific area he has no passive.
I don't think so. Too much of his power is reliant to his crystals and that sucks.
