Dracocrash··110 votes·6,826 views

You royally mess up?

Like if im playing a champion, go in 1v5 and fail everything, I flash mastery. I don't know why, I just do it.

That is the best time to use it.

That is honestly the only time to use it.

I generally get a kill, flash mastery, stand and spam dance in the tower for a bit, then leave and flash it again. Gotta assert dominance. This trundle I faced yesterday went on such hard tilt from it, that he stopped even trying to make decent trades. #MindGames

How the shit did you beat a Trundle and why didn't Riot release this champion yet?

Ik this is a joke but still, people do that.

Idk, this kind of BM should be discouraged.

When you tilt someone with emotes or spam taunting, you have no right to complain about their toxicity. If their team doesn't try to stop you, they can't complain about consequences either.

drakuIa42110 votes

doesnt matter why you're toxic, if you're toxic, you deserve to be banned. people need to take responsibillity on their actions and stol blaming others.

and using a feature riot implemented to help you win isnt wrong either.

ImaSpacePotato4 votes

Ah, but if you are the cause of toxicity, doesn't that make you toxic as well? Secondly, I doubt Riot intended the Mastery emote to be used to tilt other players. I will concede that it is not wrong, but purposely tilting someone else is distasteful and is really a douchey thing to do.

GayFluffyUnicorn4 votes

Why? I use every legal tools to win the game. Something that happens in every competitive sport. Only league seems to be stuck in the kindergarden. Just look how pathetic LCS sometimes is when you aren't even allowed to shittalk someone and everyone loves and respects each other. Don't want to know what some pros think of others but oh well league will be that fancy sugarcoated safespace.

ImaSpacePotato1 votes

See this is the problem. You hate these toxic assholes in chat, but when they're a toxic asshole purposely tilting another player its fine. It just does not make any sense at all.

Troll for Trump5 votes

Yeah? Then why can't the Bmers be toxic.

It's not just "using" a feature, it's "abusing" it to create toxicity.

Same with chat, you can use it to talk, and you can abuse it for toxicity.

But the BMers who cause it should be banned, especially since the bm leads to chain reactions that causes a person to be extremely toxic (much more so than usual).

I'm not saying people who use the chat for toxicity shouldn't be punished, I'm saying the instigators should be punished even more harshly. Most people aren't toxic normally. You incite or excite them, and that leads to toxicity. It's a normal reaction.

drakuIa4216 votes

if you get tilted by a mastery emote, you might aswell not play the game because everything will tilt you.

"I told him to suicide but he started it so its a normal reaction", oh yeah, definitely.

Troll for Trump3 votes

?

Your argument is that you shouldn't be offended by mastery emote spam because some people(you) aren't tilted by it.

Well I guess death threats are ok, because I'm not offended by them, so everyone else must be the same.

Yeah.

drakuIa4213 votes

you're putting words in my mouth now.

my argument is that if you get tilted by a mastery emote everything can tilt you.

i can even complain that someone killing me in-game tilts me, so they shouldn't be able to do that.

Troll for Trump2 votes

Killing is an intended function of the game.

Emotes are part of the game, but aren't intended to be spammed.

Pings are a part of the game, but aren't intended to be spammed.

Chat is a part of the game, but isn't intended to be a toxic cesspool

drakuIa4211 votes

is it spam when i use my mastery emote after i get a kill? maybe players should not use this feature at all.

Ackelope2 votes

there's a bit of a severity difference here. telling someone to kill themselves doesn't have quite the magnitude and potential consequence as flashing your mastery, or basically saying you're better than someone/played better in that fight. you're trying to use a double standard argument in situations that are very different.

GayFluffyUnicorn6 votes

league of legends and its community really needs to grow up tbh. Nowadays literally everything is toxic. Even flashing my mastery or bming is now toxic? Or atleast "creates" toxicity? Have u ever played a "real" sport? Shittalking and bad manners belong to sports imo not talking about insults, racism etc. I've reported and got punished enough toxic peoole, "worked" long enough for the old tribunal trying to bring justice but the current inflation of the word toxic and what is considered as toxic is really getting out of hand.

If you get tilted by that (or pings) I have absolutely no sympathy for you. If you let things like that get to you, then oh well.

LifaFreeze2 votes

I had a soraka that would ping the MIA every 3 seconds for the entire duration of the game as she followed random people around. They were definitely tilting. If someone pinged my body i'd laugh it off but pinging mia every 3 seconds is definitely tilting.

Troll for Trump2 votes

In PB&M permabanned threads, one of the most common arguments is that the permabanned user isn't offended by what they said, and thus shouldn't be banned for it, as the people who report them can't get thick skin.

Toxicity for each person is subjective. I get tilted by pings and emote spam, but don't care about death threats.

Doesn't mean I should spout "kys" everywhere.

It doesn't matter what you think, what matters is Riot's definition of toxic, as they are the final word. They should represent the community's opinions, but we don't actually have a solid grip on Riot.

Votable Jester6 votes

Those idiots are typing stuff like "You f*cking suck @$$ you fa**ot."

That's completely different from a little celebratory animation over winning a trade or a little taunt like "I can beat you 1v1 anytime" to draw them in. Calling the use of the animation toxic would be like calling the use of ": ^)" toxic. It's not an insult, and it's your own problem if you're offended by it.

Troll for Trump1 votes

": ^)" is an insult.

and it's your own problem if you're offended by it.

I'm not offended by "You fcking suck @$$ you fa*ot." Guess it's ok?

It's not. It's up to Riot to determine what's ok or not (and that's usually gauged based on community) but still. You have no right to punish the people that get pissed off from BM if you don't punish the instigators, who will only cause more toxcity

drakuIa4213 votes

wow, typing ": ^)" offends people nowadays? hell, lets just remove the chat from the game because even saying "hello" can offend someone.

The reason most of these things are censored isn't because we ourselves are offended by it. It's done in consideration for others.

"if you get tilted by a mastery emote, you might aswell not play the game because everything will tilt you" id have stopped replying after that line. they're just stringing you along with their edginess cos they dont get enough attention from their parents

GayFluffyUnicorn3 votes

People don't know the difference between shittalking/bming and actual toxicity and verbal abuse. I'm actually afraid most of the time to even write anything. Like sometimes when i get ganked and kill both of them i write "fuck off my screen". I bet according to some players here on the boards that creates "toxic environment" and is punishable.

Votable Jester4 votes

Trying to tilt your opponent is a valid strategy. So long as you aren't making any personal insults or anything, it's their own problem if they get tilted by a little animation on their screen that they can look away from if they want to.

Mecha MaIphite14 votes

I usually like flashing mastery when I'm dead after a crappy team fight. Half the time, the enemies follow suit, and we have a bunch of mastery symbols popping out of dead bodies.

TequilaZombie3 votes

I like to use it like, 30 seconds after I died, when the enemy doesn't expect me to have vision of them standing near my body. It's absolutely the best time to use it.

xxxDogmanxxx11 votes

I always flash my Mastery Level 7 whenever I die. How else can I indicate that I totally let them kill me on purpose?

Daddy Ants11 votes

I flash my level 7 mastery if the person i just killed is BM'ing.

I flash it when I succeed at an outplay, when I'm bored as support at bot lane so I dance and flash it, when I fail, when I'm being chased, almost always at this point.

Thats the best time to use it! I tend to use it when i make a sweet play as well, or if the enemy was bming and i kill them... or when i make a trade in lane... or cs. So pretty much all the time. The masteries look cool and ive worked for them, ill show them off at any chance i get :D

reaperteaser2 votes

only flash mastery lvl 4, guess my main

It just makes me feel better and it helps me laugh it off.

Whenever I completely blow past a teamfight on Kled ult I make sure they see that Mastery 7 as I roll on by.

Darkest Laugh2 votes

I've had this ritual for so many years where when the game ends no matter win or lose I will try to be next to the dead nexus and dance. I want everyone to watch me dance.

Doesn't matter who I'm playing either. If I have a mastery to flash I do that now too.

EternalShred2 votes

Yup , on Lee Sin i Q->Q -> Wardjump behind -> Kick Flash into other enemies only that i kicked and flashed in the same position i was already in , so i flash on my self and kick the enemys away ------> CTRL + 6
