I HATE JAX

How on EARTH do you beat him? He doesn't seem to have a weak early game anymore and doesn't fear early trades. I have no clue who to pick when I see a Jax. I play safe and try to chunk him down, letting him shove the lane and open up to ganks. IF he gets ganked and I get "ahead", he just seems to stay STRONG. He then just scales and becomes unstoppable. What the hell punishes people for picking such a stupid champ? I feel like he's YET ANOTHER over fucking tuned piece of shit.

And before any of you try to get cute and say "ban" him, remember these fuckers exist and right now I ban Irelia first.

There is no counterplay to Jax. As long as he uses his jump+stun combo correctly there's nothing you can do about it. I think his late game is WAY too strong, even for a supposedly "late game" champ.

That is literally the worst way a jax can execute his combo. He just blew his damage mitigation just to stun you?

Nasus Tryndamere Sion all do fine against him early and can scale strongly late. Malphite in particular has a solid late game teamfight potential.

Early game you have even more options. Pantheon, garen, Darius, kennen, ryze, renekton, Olaf can all bully him out of lane if played properly

No that's literally how he wins every trade. He starts his counterstrike and then right before it ends he jumps onto you and the ability ends (or he manually ends it).

No that's literally how you lose every trade as jax. Unless he is already severly ahead that is just going to kill him. You want people to trade INTO your counterstrike and you also never jump in with Q and waste your only way to get out. Kled, renek, darius, riven, garen and more just straight up murder him if he does that.

Jax is the champ bro, you dont beat the champ.

Edit : Renekton can clap him early, and if you press your lead hard enough you can win. But even then, Jax outscales him and is basically a ticking time bomb.

Well aside from banning him, there are things like out playing through his aggression. I've had times where Im playing Sion against Jax top. He shoots for a dive and I pop Shield then stun and afterwards I run a circle around the turret as he chases. The turret will kill him.

You can also play Irelia against him instead of banning her, or take a ranged top laner, like Gnar. Early bramble will get him reeling if your a tank/bruiser. A cc Champ, a high mobility champ, or even master yi. All of which can take him down. Rammus can punish Jax for existing as long as you pressure him early and not wait until after he has full build.

Ultimately, if you feel Jax is so evil right now, simply ban him over Irelia. You might be happier.

Im a Jax main since S3. Usually high plat/mid-low Dia through the seasons.

You want to know what counters Jax? A strong front-line team comp with lockdown cc, peel and early game bullies and tanks. in-lane specifically (in order of how much I hate to see them as a Jax main (I had 1.9 million mastery points this season):

Malphite - his attack speed slow cripples Jax throughout the game. While jax can win the lane sometimes, Malph still peels jax so hard in teamfights even if Jax gets fed. Jayce - can harrass and poke Jax without being threatened as he can just bash jax away when he jumps on him. Builidng lethality then forces jax to buy armor early, delaying his powerspikes further. Can deny Jax a LOT of farm. Teemo - Demon rat. Also denies Jax his late game dives onto carries with his blinds. Vladimir - Can poke and sustain for days - and given Jax has 0 natural sustain, he can bully Jax hard. He scales really well and has a good time against Jax so it's a strong matchup. His pool denies Jax his e. Kennen - Again, scales well, pokes Jax hard and can just zoom away the moment Jax activates his e. Viktor Poppy Pantheon

There are a lot of other matchups that are favourable against Jax, but I'd consider all of the above strong counter picks. Any mage will hard cc or a way of avoiding his E will work. Even ADC with dashes can work to bully him hard before he starts scaling.
