Level 3 bots: Hard

Level 3 bots have: No fog of war Perfect positioning (they are never in range of your abilities unless you engage or they engage) pre-cognizant reflexes (they will always dodge skill shots - no matter how fast) Cool down tracking (they know what skills are on cool down, and what that cooldown is)

And they actually ward?

And they actually ward?

... they have no fog war. As in, they have total vision

That's not hard you are just forcing players to play champions that can beat this new programming and nothing else. Which also isnt that great an idea already. Also perfect positioning wont work since I can just walk into their creep line forcing them out of XP range for free. Either they stand out of say my 1000 Xerath range or they try to walk up which breaks that perfect positioning immediately. Finally unless you want to give them teleportation than the last one is impossible to implement as they cant dodge multiple skillshots at once unless they flash. You basically just make people gang up on them at all times. Or just play carries and push down turrets until you win.

Uhm.... AA range doesnt matter with positioning. Perfect positioning refers to being out of range of abilities. globals dont count, for obvious reasons.

His scenario still applies. Also, what about champions like ADC's? AA range definitely counts for positioning against an ADC.

Not for bot mechanics. they would just move out of range, like they do now.

stay to the side of xerath at all times is possible; staying out of annies cone is possible. And actually, they ALREADY did most of this in nightmare bots >_>

Uh... have you ever played with/against a xerath? There is no just 'staying to the side' because he can aim his skills wherever he likes and you wont know until it goes off.

Lets see a bot 'stay out of range' of a cait. She'll just stand near the minion wave and the bot will never receive any cs or experience.

.... You seem to have missed the part where bots know the exact range of everything, and move out of the way. Did you never play nightmare bots? The mode where you could almost never hit a skillshot?

They could still be hit by skillshots perfectly fine. Staying out of range isnt the issue. its how are the bots going to do this without zoning themselves out of xp range? What stops me from standing in the bots creeps and hard denying them because they must stay out of range?

But back to my main point. impossible to beat isnt the same thing as hard. If I literally cant pick something like lux in this mode then why bother playing it if I wanna practice lux?

I sort of like the "no fog of war" aspect, though not for bushes. Leave bushes alone.

Perfect positioning makes Bots passive. I think the Bots are passive enough as is. If anything, they need to be more aggressive when pushing a lane. The reflexes are already fairly good.

I think you are basing your Level 3 Bots on your success at killing them and are trying to build their defense. Honestly the old adage of the best defense is a good offense applies here. You can't expect them to play more defensively and win. What you need is an AI that is ruthless to the point that it actually makes sense warding or you will die. In Intermediate, nobody wards because the bots don't pose any threat. It's an essential game mechanic entirely lost on PVE.
