You know, I'd gladly just give up Harvester of Sorrow's 75 MS boost

Malicious Metal··24 votes·1,287 views

In Favor of some base MS buffs.

The skill in itself is already pretty overloaded, offering: -AoE Damage -Heal for you and your ally -More XP -Conditional speed buff

For the sake of consistency I'd sacrifice the 75 bonus MS for a quick fix of base MS. It would actually make SrS, MS Quints and Ghost even better on him.

And yeah, this is yet another Mordekaiser thread, just wanted to share my opinion on that measly conditional power budget that actually feels rather wasted. Sue me ^^

Terrific idea

What if Morde could make himself situationally immune to movement impairment while advancing towards his target?

In World of Warcraft, Death Knights have an ability called Wraith Walk, and used to have a talent called Death's Advance, which didn't especially increase their speed, but prevented their movement from being reduced below a certain value. Implementing that in some form on Morde could allow him to approach his targets without making him especially fast.

I do, however, also agree that Morde needs better base movement speed, though I also think at this point every melee champion should have higher base movement speed than any ranged champion, even if it's the slowest juggernaut compared to the fastest marksman or whatever. As long as League continues to exist in an environment where some melee champions can be kited infinitely, even in theory, melee vs. ranged will not be in a healthy spot, and as long as melee champions don't have one definite advantage over ranged, they're not going to feel as great as they could be.

but prevented their movement from being reduced below a certain value.

Oh, but we already have that! Soft & hard caps make sure you can't get slower below 200~~ :P

But seriously, though, that is a good point to bring up, because movement speed caps are absolutely terrible. Because of them, almost every single slow or movement speed boost in the game gives an incorrect value compared to its "real" modifier, which is a massive clarity issue, and it also means certain slows just don't really increase at all when you rank them up. Zilean's Time Warp, for example, will slow most champions by nearly the exact same value whether it's at rank 3 or rank 5, so ranking it up has almost no effect, even though in theory it should be slowing you literally thirty times as hard. Slows don't stack anymore, so lower movespeed caps should be removed and all slows adjusted, but I also think upper caps should get removed as well, with speed buffs adjusted accordingly. The very existence of under-the-hood movement speed caps goes completely against Riot's goals of clarity and power appreciation, and has no reason to continue at this stage in the game.

Morde DOES need a base MS buff.

Considering that the MS buff decays the closer you get to the cast, I wouldn't mind the trade off either, although I'm not gonna lie, I save people with the allied MS boost.

How about this:

We scrap Exp passive on w since you don't notice it in even duo lane, and make the MS buff on w not decay. In this way, you can use even a solo cast w to have a window of power to stick and escape.

Or, scrap exp passive, buff Morde's base MS by ten, make the w MS a CONSTANT 65(instead of 75) while up.

Umm, I actually notice it a lot when I'm playing Support Morde. Hit lvls way before enemy support does. Not that I want to encourage people to be naughty like me.

GDI, as someone who plays support everything I have to do this now, thanks a lot. ;P

(Also is it just me or are the morde mains multiplying? I swear there were only 2 of you last year.)

BastionKross1 votes

There were actually quite a few Morde mains back when the rework hit the PBE and they begged CertainlyT to stop that "Bot lane Morde" business. After the rework and the hard nerfs the came as a result of it, I'd be willing to bet there's less Morde mains now than before the rework.

And that's saying something.

Clarification: There are mains, whom I don't care about, and there are mains who post on the boards, who I do care about... There sure are a lot more morde mains lately.

MunchCrunchLunch2 votes

hmm yeah give him 10 ms.

Ahristocats1 votes

the thing is that Morde doesn't need to "trade things" what he needs is straight buffs without sacrificing anything

the only thing that you may remove is his XP passive that holds his kit back in bot lane.

TBH people who actually play the champions like their life blood should have some sort of voice when discussing matters about that champion. Staying silent also gets people no where, so don't worry about putting a bunch of threads up about Morde. It's better to draw peoples attention because there'll always be at least one person that listens.

GayFluffyUnicorn2 votes

Some attention? 3 posts a day, 10 a week are barely a bunch of threads. Especially when they all repeat themselves. 3 Threads about MS of mordekaiser, then about juggernauts in general and back to mordekaiser. Something he adressed 3 months ago.

AuraCreed1 votes

I was more replying to the fact that he seemed sort of annoyed that people thought he was posting a bunch when he shouldn't be worried about it too much. Yeah I know he doesn't post a bunch but if OTHER people feel like he does he shouldn't worry about it - that's what I meant.

BastionKross2 votes

Sometimes you have to annoy Riot into doing things, and that means constant repetition to wear them down.

MM also has legit cred since he and his constant Morde posts are the main reason solo lane Morde is a thing right now. Without him, Morde would still be bot lane, still labelled a marksman, and his title would be "The Lord of Death".

So if he wants to spam the boards with Morde threads, I say let him. If Riot were to actually improve Morde, he'd probably slow down the Morde talk dramatically. So if you're tired of Malicious Metal Morde threads, join him in his crusade to elevate Morde above joke champion status.

I feel sorry for you. Every day I see you slowly wither into a state of pity and sorrow and Riot just slowly makes more Ahri skins and rubs your tears like succulent oil on their skin. I feel for your main, my main was considered cancer tooGnar, and was gutted into near uselessness and heroin dependency on one itemitem 3022 just like your championitem 3116, but it's not the same, mine can be played in a very small niche and with a good team sometimes(sucks for those with no league friends). Your's? Developer hell... At this point malicious, I think you should settle for whatever bone they give you, it doesn't look like they have interest in looking at morde soon. R.I.P.

Valexfor1 votes

I agree that morde needs some (let's say A LOT of) love, but I don't think rito will do anything to him before he gets a VGU. It hurts to see you trying your hardest every single day to convice rito to do something but only achieve to get the classic "we'll look at him eventually" or "we are looking at him and we will do something eventually"...

Divine Irelia1 votes

As someone who always enjoys playing some morde, I can understand your concern for morde and making him a good champ. However the amount of posts you make about him is ridiculous and doesn't change anything as riot continues to ignore you. Just a tad bit annoying.

Saianna1 votes

What if it could be casted on enemy, dealing dot damage, super-slightly slowing them and giving Mordecaiser MS when he moves in their direction?

Mordepool1 votes

Frankly the 75 could stay. If they removed both of the decaying factors. Only if
