Take it as a good sign, might mean your mmr is high enough to play with lower golds, I play with and against plats pretty regularly as a G2 player, I take that as a sign that I might soon be ready to join them.

Something worth noting. Rank /=/ mmr. A bronze 5 player could be playing against gold, if his mmr is at that level. Rank is an illusion, that people attempt to use as a show of skill. Rank does prove something, a diamond player against a bronze player for example, but with a 2 division difference, it's less impactful.

That being said, he could've easily been duo with the silver 5 Xin. Gold 5 + Silver 5 is roughly a silver 3 mmr.

Gold V with 0 league points. He's BARELY 3 divisions above you and 3 divisions isn't even that big of a difference. Not to mention that his MMR appears to have fallen fairly drastically as of late. He's either lost something that worked for him or has been trying to do something that doesn't work for him.
