There needs to be a penalty for failed trades...

...specifically for the guy that doesn't accept the trade when it's sent. I'm tired of being forced to dodge and lose lp for the sake of my team because some moron wasn't paying attention to champ select. It's blatantly unfair and it turns what should be a strategic move during the draft phase into unnecessary lp loss and time spent being forced to not play.

Now I gotta wait 30 minutes to get back into queue because of this mess + I lost like 10 or so lp for free. It's bullshit, and it won't be the last time. There needs to be something that MAKES DAMN SURE that your trades go through, and if they don't, you don't get fucked over by it because the other guy on the other end is messing with his porn files on the low-key.

Seriously.

Why? Just because you offer to trade doesn't mean they're obligated to take it lol.

Then actually decline it.

For example: If I say "Hey, mind trading me my champ?", then they pick my champ for me, then I pick their champ, who in their right mind would actively choose to say no to the freaking trade!? Are you TRYING to screw 5 people over?

Yes. I do this all the time.

Well word agreements aren't binding. It's not fair that you initiate an action and force another player to take another action in response. If you want to trade, you take the risk that it may or may not happen. But nowhere in Riot's code is trade enforced since trade is in no way required to play a healthy game of LoL.

Because then you could just initiate lots of trades to try and give people penalties in case they pick a champion and alt tab, which many people do. There's no way for Riot to enforce a rule or system like this. And it can't be happening enough that it's a problem either, they're basically isolated incidents.

Lemme put it this way: If you don't want to trade, you can decline. If you don't pick either way, you're clearly not paying attention. This is the same reason we have to lock in now in champ select, so you should be locking in an actual answer for trades.

There's no reason someone should get away scott free and make me dodge for everyone's sake because they weren't paying attention. That literally unfair, and paying attention is why champ select is the way it is now.

Side note: Declining a trade locks you out of trading for a bit anyway. I'm not concerned with trade agreement spam.

Yeah but if you offer a trade, you're forcing a player to do something by your will. Not the game's. If you join queue and enter a lobby, you did this all by your will. But if someone offers you trade and you don't answer, it's another player causing another's penalty. It's not fair to allow interplayer penalties. Reports aren't the same as you report and Riot makes the call based on it, not like this where your trade is the cause of the penalty.
