Stop bitching about Auto-Fill.

Auto-fill is a product of a lack of people queuing for support. Back in season 6, this caused bad queue times + making yourself even marginally available for support automatically made you support almost every time. Riot decided to introduce auto-fill to fix high elo queue times, and decided to double down on it to help with role priority issues for all the other elos.

To get rid of auto-fill, you need to fix what it's trying to fix, thus invalidating its purpose in the game, thus allowing it to be removed. Fix natural interest in support, and we won't need a system to force people to support...or in this iteration, force someone to jg so it can force someone to support so that guy that picked mid/sup can play mid for a bit.

I don't really think there's a lot that can be done with fixing the support role; I actually love supporting. I think it's a really fun lane to play; but it is very team dependent. You are rarely in a position where you can just hard carry a game and fixing this, while keeping and maintaining the role and champions they have now; just wouldn't really work / would honestly frustrate me.

I think overall its lack of popularity has less to do with the role itself and more to do with relying on your team to do work for you.

I've made COUNTLESS threads on support's issues, most of it centering around lousy itemization variety and binary/one-note champ kits. The issue is that Riot already did a large-scale support role rework a good while ago, and because they want to do other reworks, they aren't going to put in the elbow grease to iron out the support role's issues.

I doubt support's going to ever get insanely popular, but it's a BLATANT problem right now, and ignoring it or brushing it off isn't going to fix it. If that's your solution, then everyone needs to stop bitching about auto-fill because it's a necessity.

I mean, they're attempting to do small fixes. The changes to sensor, locket and redemption are both pretty fun and if used right very impactful items.

I definitely don't disagree, there's some things that could be tweaked about numerous champions, and I think for the lane phase supports can be very impactful; it's just after that in which they seem less so. Maybe I'm just coming from a place of philosophers stone rush, but I really don't find it that miserable....

Riot could have prevented this if early Season 6 they added a rule "you can't get your secondary more than 50% of the time". Tons of people were support secondary until Riot made that a synonym for Support Main.
