Because one of my friends just proved to me that there really should be a lower tier.
He dies more than 10 times in the first 15 minutes, says blitzcrank is OP and should be banned every game, and the only kills he can ever get is by kill stealing.
He also plays full AP Ekko. I'm level 5 with Ekko, and even when I'm playing fully tilted, hands cold af, and tired as well, I still do better. (I'm silver)

Miror B4 votesI'd actually like to see an expansion of the bronze tier (kinda like a reverse version of the challenger ladder, in which when you hit "0" you're put in promos for silver and anything below that is the bronze tier itself). Just an idea, doubt rito would actually implement it though.

Basically, when you're put in bronze you're given a number of negative LP (like -20, or -200). Gaining/losing LP would work as normal, and there wouldn't be any bronze 1 or bronze 5 bullsh't. Instead, once you hit 0LP you'd be put into a best of x promos where succeeding would toss you into silver.

With the system you're suggesting, you could go to -2000 or higher, until it seems impossible to get out without creating a new account. The system they have now allows you to climb out once you've improved significantly. And if you do have a bottom, then it functions the same as the current system yeah?

Kinda. If there were a "bottom" then it'd have to be pretty deep, but what it'd essentially do is keep the bad players down until they improve substantially. If you're -700LP bronze, then a few games in which you slightly improve or have a friend carry you isn't going to push you into silver. You'll ultimately have to work your way up there, and prove that you deserve to be in a better tier.

Darth Sidiouss2 votesYes i strongly agree their needs to be a D league (development league tier) or wood tier where in that tier alone u can earn more LP than usual to make out towards bronze but at the same time teaches you the fundamentals of a ranked game process, just basic stuff for players to work onto bronze.

Right now he's statistically a good ban for both plat and diamond, and he's deeply unpleasant to play against even when statistics aren't saying you should.

League is a hard game to learn, mainly because it has a lot of depth and unless you have a very knowledgeable friend teaching you its gonna take a considerable amount of time to learn and that's not new players fault. As video games go MOBAs are definitely up there in terms of the time it takes to learn how to play well. Riot should do a better job of teaching new players advanced concepts, and punishing players who are toxic in ranked so that "ELO HEll" is less hellish. Most these bad players could get better if people would teach them things like counterbuilding (fighting Mundo? Build Executioners Calling or Morello) or the importance of turning and attacking enemy champs when an objective is being contested, or hell even the importance of focusing the squishier damage dealers first in a teamfight. If you don't have someone helping you learn what you did wrong it can be hard to know what you did wrong as a new player, but most players won't take the time to tell people in a way that'll make them listen, and Riot sure as hell won't help teach them these things only the bare-bones basics. So a new tier sure.... but lets call it something less insulting eh? Beginners tier, or Intro Tier. Now that said, I understand your frustration at the people who are trolling or simply DO NOT want to learn or get better, and Riot needs to do better job of punishing the toxic people.
Espurr VI1 votesMy friend has been playing for a year... and my platinum friend has been trying to teach him, as well as myself. Some of my friends who were diamond used to try and queue with him, absolutely refuse to now since he literally has not learned a thing in the year he's played.

Reading and learning in which situations you want Spirit Visage over Banshee's Veil, knowing what Grievous Wounds is, how and when to pick it up. They don't really differentiate between targets, what proper focus is, what peel is...
The fact is you either find a way to convey these things or you find new friends to go competitive with. There's no harm in being or playing with a casual gamer, but you can't really take them along and expect the same level of investment. They're probably more at home in the rotating game modes than in norms, where simple distinctions make big differences.
They're everywhere, not just in ranked, though. League has become mainstream, which means people play it because friends play rather than because they know MOBAs or have any interest in it itself.

Dukues1 votesNot really sure what it would solve except create some additional comedy. Lower tiers of bronze seem to be for people who are actually inexperienced or don't really feel like trying. Bronze 1 or 2 (besides players who just did placements) seems to be more for players who are actually trying to learn the game and work on climbing. But in the end having another bronze tier wouldn't really solve anything.
At one point I wanted Riot to split silver into two tiers since its literally over 40% of the player population by the end of the season. But ultimately its not really necessary either.
