In a Way, Support CAN Carry

I used to think that support was bad in solo queue because it doesn't allow you to carry. But consider this. If you get your ADC fed and they proceed to wreck the game from that point on, you did what a bad support likely could not do.

Sometimes I choose to support because I don't trust anybody else to do the job right. This one time, I got my carry to 5/0/0 using Nautilus extremely early in the game. How do you think that game went?

Judging by my ranked experience this season you lost due to him being greedy and dieing at Minute 45 while you had 3 open inhibs. (I get the point though)

The reason why climbing as Support was so easy last season was because you were likely to get matched against someone who dislikes Support or just can't Play it. You could wreck that lane relatively easy. You can still carry, but it's harder.

A support supports, so he can only get carried by his team. You can get your adc fed, if they dont know what to do with it, rip. You can make perfect engages, if you have no follow up, rip. You can even ward the whole map, if no one looks at at.. u know.

Team with good support is more likely to win, nothing surprising here.

The champ pick matters. For example, and I shit you not, I had a game tonight that was 4v5 for the full duration. I was on Janna and their Soraka never connected. We lost that game because despite my best efforts, my team made poor moves, kept getting caught in places without vision, and didn't have the damage to do anything. It was a pathetic display.

Janna is the champ you play when you want to get carried. Nautilus is the champ you play when you want to make plays happen. Would things have been different if I had played Nautilus? I dunno, probably not in this case.

I've been maining support since season 3 and the only way you MIGHT have carried is with ether Zyra or Sona, and Sona is just bad right now. Zyra does stupid amounts of damage with just item 3092 item 3151 and if you want a true carry support I would recommend learning her. She also shits on pretty much all melee supports.

Being a support in bronze is great. I've seen many games won because champs like Blitzcrank would just spoonfeed people kills because no one (including me, there's reasons I'm bronze after all) can dodge his hook.

Also, hard matchups don't even = losing lane necessarily. My last game was me as Nami with a Lucian (who I usually hate supporting) vs. a Graves Nautilus (Naut pretty much 90+% of the time destroys me in lane) pairing, and we actually ended up not feeding and getting a couple kills on them! I generally try not to play super passive because of item 3303 but it worked that time. Bronze is beautiful!

I find that tanky hook support are the best for attempting to carry ( Blitzcrank Thresh Nautilus , even Leona ) though, if you're playing Soraka for instance and your ADC can't get anything done then you're toast.

The support carries the ADC, who carries the team. I personally play a lot of Blitzcrank... Because for some reason no-one knows how to dodge. I think there are a few champions everyone should play a few times just to know how to play against them: Yasuo, Blitzcrank, Vayne, Thresh, and maybe Ahri. They become a lot less 'OP' once you know how the player thinks. (Albeit, sometimes there's just nothing to do.)

Is a legit carry for support. One of the few, you will nearly always do the most damage in the game( yes you will out damage Yi, Zed, leblanc often by 5-10k damage), you have a 70% 2 second slow on a 4 second cool down that can hit 3+ people, you have a ranged knock up, and you do %HP damage, so you don't typically need any pen till rather late. You also need next to no gold to be good, but since you have your W you can clear a wave and defend towers easily so you can collect those big fat bot lane waves in low elo when your team runs off and leaves the support sitting there trying to keep a tower for getting killed.

Against squishy supports you can max q first and chunk people, against annoying tanky or pull champs, you can max W and shred them. The %HP combined with thunder lords is enough to cause some serious pain to even the most tanky champs. Play back and use your E to peel your carry in mid game team fights then your ult to kill who ever dove them.

Those combos also have insane amounts of damage with the ults, once you hit 6 in bot lane if you and your ADC are in sync, one solid E knock up pretty much means the deletion of the enemy bot lane if you both ult and hit.

Other supports that can potentially hard carry are:

Zyra Anivia Volibear but Zyra has less HP than a lvl 0 poro and can get deleted, Anivia takes skill to not screw over your team with walls and doesn't really engage so it's hard to carry with her, and Voli is a way under played support but has some serious weakness to certain champ combos in bot lane.
