Speech Frequency Option

The new Sion sounds great, but much like many other champions (Twitch and Aatrox just to name a couple), I'm growing annoyed by how much he talks.

If we could get a slider to either increase or decrease the intervals of champ speak, I would greatly appreciate that. Sometimes I just wanna focus on the fields of battle without hearing "I'll drink from your skull" ad nauseum.

I can't speak to the feasibility of this, but it's a cool idea that we'll add to the list of things to investigate. Keep the ideas comin'!

Hey all,

Just throwing an idea out there -

**Would an enemy VO slider be something to look into? **

If I am understanding the issue correctly, its that you would rather not hear other players VO as often. It is true that new champs have more dialog, therefore seemingly talk more often across every action they do.

In terms of the champion *you *are playing. we can look into toning that down with upping the no-play probability on VO events.

I think that an enemy voice slider would help, maybe just a voice slider in general like the op is suggesting. i wouldn't use it much as i really enjoy the voices, but i can see how some people would want it.

i would much rather it be an option, opposed to you turning down how often VO lines play. i really enjoy the new sion voice and love hearing all of the champions talk a lot, so im very much against; "upping the no-play probability on VO events" without an option to not do that.

Having a slider for that kind of probability modification might take awhile - As Eno states, the feasibility is rough based on how our audio system runs. But we can definitely look into it! Thanks King Dellron!

Just make sure that when you release it, the slider is set to the pre-patch default position.

Don't fuck up again like you did with the 3x louder pings on the ping slider release.

A frequency slider is a LOT harder to manually tweak to find the default position yourself (as opposed to a volume slider)

My assumption (since I dont have context to this particular addition) is that upon implementation there was an added headroom, louder than previous default, to the max volume of the pings. Then the max volume was set as the new default. It's always a possibility that when providing new features, blips can occur. Be nice Falkenjeff :) We are trying to address everyone's desires with audio flexibility.

In my own preference, I've had to turn off all voice volume since Nami's release. And that's because it gets so incredibly annoying to constantly hear my own champion talk at me. I haven't heard any voice acting for that long because it's just not worth it to me.

Right now it definitely feels like a all-or-nothing situation. Either I get to hear all the voices in the game but just have a barrage of responses assaulting my ears whenever I click like a maniac or I go with nothing at all and preserve my sanity.

I would LOVE some sort of slider to set how often the champion I'm control responds to commands. I think if I could set it at like 10-25% of what it is now it would make a world of difference while playing.

Please let there be a button to get Azir to shut up about Shurima for a while... But yeah, i'd like voices to happen less often in general, but especially on the other team.

Well since I am summoning(Please, please, make summoners a thing again already) a champ, I'd rather hear their voice more than others... unless it is a special interaction.

Maybe you guys should look into two sliders one for how often a champ will speak... and one for how loud it will be. Then make version of those that deal with other people's champs.

And while we are at it... can we get a mute option that mutes everything by a player.

Like sometimes people just talk crap... but sometimes they start emote spamming and pinging. I should not have to mute all of my teams pings just to deal with one problem.

Dear God I would love a slider like that. I swear if I heard anyone in real life laugh like Vi does I would chuck a rock at them (or a more socially acceptable equivalent). With the number of times I see enemies emote spam, I would likely have this bar permanently at it's lowest setting.

I have just as much to gain in my experience playing the game hearing Vi's laugh from a room of first-graders' recorder recital, as I do from hearing the enemy Gnar saying "Demaglio!" or any interactions between an enemy champ and mine. I understand that this view would not only keep in the sound effects that some repeat in emote spamming, but this view also fundamentally seems negative. What I boil it down to is the fact that it's easier for the voices my opponents have to distract and annoy me (after having played the game for as long as I have), than it is for them to enrich my experience. The sound from abilities, the music in the game, the sounds from buying items, these all do give me not only a sense of satisfaction but also add clarity and convey things that I wouldn't be able to perceive if I played the game on mute.

Would I be willing to reduce or remove all of the good from this specific situation if doing so meant that all the bad would go with it? I'd answer yes six days of the week.

Tbh i feel like Sion is bugged and sometimes does not speak, even when using emotes.

But still really good idea, sometimes champion voice is annoying when listening to music

This is a great idea. Sometimes I have to mute my speakers when I get Veigar in Aram. Its only a short way? IS THAT A SHORT JOKE?

i would be ok with an enemy VO slider, if it limits laughs; i've had a cass spam laugh at me and i nearly had an aneurysm

Gnar also never stops making noises. They start off cute, but eventually one grows tired of "HUP! HWAH! GYA!".
