Question about playing Rek'sai

Just thought I'd ask around Rek'sai mains for some advice on how to play her. I've played a couple of game with her in the jungle and I've been having some trouble getting kills. I always feel like I come out of the ground really strong with the knock up and popping my Q, but then I feel like my damage subsides and I usually get out dueled with my opponent walking away with 1/4 of their life. And I've been having trouble figuring out what's the best way to build her. Do I go glass canon and try to be bursty? Or do I first build tanky and try to grind my way in fights?

I just feel like the cooldown on her E is really long and it takes a long ass time to build that max fury to take advantage of the true damage bonus. The last game I played with her I went and but couldn't outtrade their rengar and riven. I really like her mechanics and would love to get better with her. Any advice is appreciated.

Try to burrow and then unburrow , that what rek sai do :)

She is not going to 100-0 people unless you're really fed. Your build looks solid, might wanna go item 1412 instead for the bonus damage from the smite. It's meaningful.

Honestly, you're not truly bursty unless ahead. The trick for getting ahead is good ganks. Remember that tunnels can go over any wall, and gives you so many options for ganks. A good rek gank with just item 1412 as an item, plus your laner's damage should lead to a lot of kills.

There's a lot I want to help with but it's kinda hard to objectify. I have 182k mastery with Rek'Sai, so at this point it's kinda instinct.

Rek kinda scales pretty well with base damage, but I tend to build her with item 1401 into either item 3074 or item 3748 for the simple fact that you win duels because you have more health while still dealing damage

super hard champion gonna take you a really long time to learn and will probably keep having negative results, truth sucks but needs to be heard :/

She is not, inherently, a carry champ...so trying to out-duel a Riven or Rengar (or most other ad champs for that matter) she is going to lose, unless you are ahead. Where she REALLY shines is getting creative in her ganks. You NEVER should do the walk down river and gank strat...always use walls and such as an advantage to your ganking.

Also...I go bruiser-tanky'ish build. She is much better as a distraction and pain in the ass than a damage dealer.

Wow thanks for all the comments! I think I was overestimating her early damage and trying to 1v1 to much. So say you have a Rengar running around in your jungle, do you advise to not engage until mid/late game as Rek'sai?
