When should you not build Ardent Censer?

My jungler was being a pain to teammates, calling them stupid and such for whatever little mistake they made. I pointed out he walked to his raptors instead of clearing the probably 20ish caster minion wave on our bot inner tower, so clearly his attention isn't perfect either. To which he responds, "I'm muting you. You built Censer. So stupid."

Umm, yeah, I'm Lulu. We have an ADC that benefits from it and a top laner who benefits from it. Why wouldn't I build an item that helps two teammates do more damage and survive longer?

Assuming you are playing a champion that can apply it effectively, when would you ever avoid building Censer?

I mean, even with an ADC like Jhin who can't use the attack speed, it still gives him free AD from a support bought item. That's not exactly a bad thing in my opinion. Am I wrong?

item 3107 or item 3190 is more useful early on. Ardent is mostly good mid-late game.

If my ADC is ahead and there doesn't seem to be much threat from ganks or dying to the enemy bot lane, I can sometimes go for Censer when my ADC benefits from it, though this is not often the case. If ganks are a real threat or the enemy has decent kill potential on us I'd definitely go for the defensive route first (but Censer can still come second or third if you're doing well).

I wouldn't ever buy it with Jhin though. Always consider the rest of your team though, there may be other AD auto based champions which can increase the total allies it benefits.

the lifesteal also works on minions, anyone that wants to sustain if you can heal/shield them and they attack minions they're going to heal this item is the best item in soloq and i rush it everytime

It depends. Personally i have been straying from Ardent on champions like Nami..... Though i still buy it from time to time just because its an overloaded support item for heal/shield supports.

I do avoid it more when with multiple allies that just do not seem to utilize it as well however, such as Jhin, Malphite, Rumble....... Etc. Because then its just a stat utem that you could get item 3116 on a champ like Nami, or item 3060 if they have multiple AP champs...... Etc. Or you could even do item 3050 or item 3109 for helping out more than the Ardent in situations like that.

Tbh though it sounds like you were building fine but the jubgler was a newbie or just inexperienced player in general, and thinks they know everything just because they got a Pentakill with Yi in a game.

When you don't build Ardent:

You don't have Redemption/Locket yet
You don't have heals/shields

That's about it.
