Don't Attack People Who Are Bad In Normals

Normals are where everyone is told to practice new champs or learn new roles. Honestly it's a horrible place to learn with how inconsistent it is (playing against a Diamond one game and a Bronze the next game) but that's the best we've got.

That said, berating players for being bad at the champion or role they are trying to practice doesn't help them get better. Unless you want people first time a new champion or role in ranked, then let them do it in a normal.

It's great hearing your support go, "Our top sucks. Do we even have an jungler? Mid won't leave lane. And our ADC is missing CS. Just FF and go back to bots, yall suck." It's a normal game, geez, let people learn. You aren't going to be demoted because you lose a normal game.

I mean, or how about we just don't berate people at all? If they make mistakes then they're obviously learning, insulting them won't help them improve and it won't make you win your game regardless of whether it's ranked, normals, or even coop vs ai.

That aside I agree with the post. Berating people for learning is stupid.

Or just don't attack people in general? That's what bad players do.

Psh. How is it my problem they're bad? Shame on them for trying to get better at the game, or even worse, trying to have fun.

I'm not going to bother not making somebody's game a living hell when the better thing to do is to offer tips and advice for improvement or even just not saying anything.

If I see these Bronzies in any of these games I play they're gonna get it. I expect Diamond level play from people who are randomly matched up with me in a casual play setting. Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to flex on some Bronze 4 fool that I am Silver 3 and thus his intellectual, social, and heirarchical superior.

######Just kidding take it easy on people in Normals, don't be a jerk.

For a basic rule of thumb how about, don't attack people who are bad. Take pride in if you are good.

i remember when i played velkoz sup, i had 3/1/3 my adc was 3/0/3 and she was spaming whole laning phase "USELESS" XD also people are crying so much when u are playing something "new" like liss sup or nami mid

Pinkaj5/26/2018, 5:30:47 AM6 votes

Honestly I don't care what people do in norms, so long as they don't rq, flame, or int (like not as in a bad matchup, but like the "u took my cannon minion" type of int) As a support main, I absolutely HATE when a support screams toxicity and BMs too much, forgetting to ward and poke/peel/follow up. People just need to accept that we are humans, and we make mistakes, and hopefully they learn from it.

I agree to an extent that you shouldn’t flame, but if it’s someone sayin “ hey your missing tons of cs, time your shots for minions and don’t hard push” people rage 90% of the time and it’s legit advice. I wish the ban system was better so people don’t just tilt and call everything said “negative flame”

I've never understood the reason why people get so competitive in norms or say stuff like go back to bots. Playing a norm is how you play league casually. Most people who do flame don't have the self-confidence to play ranked so they berate people in norms and worry about the 15 ranked games they've played. Its one of those things where you mute them and keep doing what you want.

It's great having people try what they want in normals and I generally don't mind giving tips to allies/enemies if the mood feels right for it. But so many times, people don't want any tips they just want to troll around and that to me ruins the fun. I don't attack players with chat ever, that's for sure. But back in the day when I didn't realize how real robots playing games was I sure would become an 'invincible keyboard warrior' and do so.

Dead flag blues5/25/2018, 8:19:20 PM3 votes

Especially since the match making is pretty fucked up, a someone Diamond can have the same MMR in normal games as a level 30

Squishie5/25/2018, 9:35:59 PM3 votes

Bruh I never understood those people, whenever i play another role besides my main there is always that 40% winrate bronze/silver guy who will flame me for missing a smite or something

Gabychan7305/26/2018, 5:26:02 AM2 votes

I agree to this in some extent. Sure people shouldn't flame each other if the person is still not completely used to a champ or is having some difficulty getting used too because it's so different from what they're used too. But you cannot tell me that you will not get mad at someone if they constantly die to your laner or just dives under tower and dies, because it's the most annoying thing ever. But if you're gonna practice a champ I recommend playing bots or practice tool first so you can get used to the champs abilities. But I mean that's just my opinion. [sg-miss-fortune]

There's no difference between normal games and ranked games. Same shit happens everywhere. Feeders, afkers, trolls. You go ranked, one moron goes 0-8 and says hey i'm learning! Teemo mid or jungle, Lee Sin support, Riven mid, etc. Happens all the time, no matter normal or ranked. So fk that. I'm going to shit on these fks whenever I feel to do so.

CURSEÐ REVENANT5/25/2018, 11:29:40 PM2 votes

Practice tool and bot games. PVP is not the place to practice.

Ariel the Cruel5/26/2018, 3:31:20 AM2 votes

Why the hell are people trying to practice in normals? That's what ranked is for!

Arduno5/25/2018, 11:06:51 PM2 votes

Well if you do wanna win 24/7 then recruit people who are good in your eyes make a team with them and play premades with them queuing up with strangers will always end up in a nightmare you have like high amount of chance to get a balanced crazy team If you wanna have something better you will have to work for it! mehehehehehehehehehe

Jack Eron5/26/2018, 6:30:18 AM2 votes

The 90% of those who are saying "don't flame pls it's only a normal" are totally brainless. When i see this sentence it never comes from a guy who tried everything...

They are first timers with a champ but they still want to 1v1 over and over with the enemy nevermind how many times they died. They like to push without warding. They never try to defend their lanes under the turret. They never want to buy any mr, armor, zhonya against those who are fed.

Also i just leave the lobby when i see "chill it's only normal". Those who says this literally never want to win and possibly will feed.

You can learn. You can try new things. But you have to do your best for the TEAM. This is a teamwork strategy game. Seriously don't understand those who don't want to win. In teamwork strategy games this is NOT an option. What's the point of these words if not winning the game? As i see blindpick is for brainless people who want to copy the actual "absolutely not clicbait video" called OMG THIS NEW CRIT ZILEAN INSANE 100%CRIT HOLYSHIT INSTAWIN.

But draft is good for those who want to practise for rankeds. Sorry for my english.

Snowman Arc5/26/2018, 8:42:48 AM2 votes

At this point, I just try new champions in custom games. I find it so much more reliable. I get to do whatever I want without having to play out someone else's pace, or without me ruining their game. I get to practice their combos, test out the damage output, how effectively it can clear the jungle or at which point it gets to clear waves well etc.

Also, I try champions on my smurf account. Like it or not, it's probably the best bet. Playing in silver, ranked games are more serious than normals, but the competition isn't as hard, so I know that with a new champion, I'd at least be kinda on the same level, so it's a good training ground.

LordMolgarath5/26/2018, 1:34:13 PM2 votes

This forum post just rallied my hope in the League community.

I mean, sure it'll all go to hell as soon as I play my next Normal game while I learn how to play Kayn Jungle and Twisted Fate, but... still.

Love ya! [katarina-love] See ya on da Rift.

JRobin315/26/2018, 6:16:33 PM2 votes

While I agree that normal game isn't exactly the best place to berate players... You also learn best when you learn to accept criticism.

By characterizing normals as a place players go to 'learn', you've automatically opened the door for criticism.

Are you there to learn? Then learn to accept criticism.

So I think that you have to step back. It may be that players are going to normals expecting to just have fun and not care about learning... and that's why they don't care about criticism.

But if the point of your post was to complain about berating players for no purpose (as opposed to berating them as a form of criticism), then that sort of behavior doesn't belong anywhere (normals, ranked, ARAM, URF, TT, ...) So there is no relevance to you emphasizing that players go to normals to 'learn'.

Here's a nutty idea, what if they instead used bots, or god forbid the PRACTICE TOOL that we begged Riot for 6 YEARS to get, to actually learn a champion before taking it into PvP. I know, it takes 30 minutes out of your life and that's just way too much effort to put into a competitive game. Sorry.
