How would you rate your preseason experience so far?

After the dust has kind of settled and the true OPs have been discovered (or re-cemented in some cases), my early eagerness for this preseason has gone down the gutter. Here are some of my thoughts on the preseason experience:

  1. There's too much damage across the board. Every role is essentially a damage dealer now and the lines between mage, burster and assassin are so obscure now.
  2. Bruisers are just inferior to tanks in almost all aspects now as tanks have more early damage, tankiness, safety, cc and scale harder than bruisers.
  3. Games are ending too quickly. While the vote count might pop up at 15-20 minutes, the game feels like it's lost within the first 8 minutes if you or your teammates die early. This leads to people tilting/throwing in the towel super early.
  4. Some of the keystones have some serious issues with how they react with champions. It's a serious pain to try and learn how much damage everyone does by going into games and finding out first hand that mf can take off half your hp bar with 1 q.
  5. There are no good keystones for melee champions, and ranged champions don't have any of the previous "if ranged, does less" hiccups on some of their strongest keystones (PTA, Lethal, Fleet(?), Etc.)
  6. Bad minion pathing is STILL here and it's a pain in the arse to deal with regardless if you're ranged or melee. Not only that but the minion aggro randomly triggers too, stealing away your cs.
  7. 'Trouble' champions are more toxic and non-interactive as ever ESPECIALLY with how well they can abuse keystones like aery (pantheon, heimer, etc).
  8. Everyone just picks broken shit, which makes the game incredibly volatile and unfun - leading to point 3.

So overall, my experience has been less than ideal lol. Never have I seen so much red in my match history... so here's hoping that it'll get better sooner than later.

they announced a huge balance pass principally directed at top lane for the 14th December. I can't wait to see that, hopefully this will address most of the top lane issues.

Well said. I would add that the game is waaaay to glitchy and buggy even for preseason makes you pretty much loose your mind because your third AA in a row was ghost attack or that your Q just flew trough the enemy ( also when you download the replay so you can have proof, it looks different on the replay than it looked in the game that i recorded with my GPU's software, the players and minions are standing differently, sometimes by a lot, and stuff like that). and the random response that dash and movement spells have with stun (sometimes you just stand still sometimes you overpower it sometimes you finish your dash) and other weird stuff happening on league right now.

All agreed...

2 more things I hate this season are-

EXP loss (you don't catch with the enemy team's highest players > more snowball > harder enemy minion push > fewer gains from successful roams to play macro) Eyeballs/stacks runes> (bonus gold value from kills > shut down gold doesn't make comparative value anymore > more snowball)

My match history is red AF too. I've literally had to make a smurf so I can play with my lower elo friends because while my main Leona absolutely spanks in ranked, I can't compensate with her anymore for the MMR circus that league calls normals matchmaking.

I've been enjoying a lot of the new toys, though I will agree that overall damage and balance is too high, but that isn't surprising and I expect things to definitely get better with the next few balance patches.

Pretty much everything you're saying is true but probably wont change because Riot doesnt even acknowledge these issues. If anything this will probably be resolve well after S8 has started since theres pretty much only the Season start patch to go.
