Did she get base damage upgrades or something?
Just was a little surprised she did so much damage. She didn't build an ap item till like third or fourth but was still bursting people.
I haven't played her for ages but I thought I remembered her being more item reliant for damage.
It's probably the fact that her ult can be used 3 times in a row. And it's a dash. And it deals damage. And it resets on kills.
I'm pretty sure it's because riot buffed her E, so that it's base CD is 1 second.
tank akali spams e ths same way tank eve spams q for damage the diffrence being that eve's damage was gutted for her passive and akali is not being treated the same way by riot so she is allowed to do damage.
Riot hate eve but gives no fucks to akali
they made it so you get the same amount of energy on q proc so people dont have to max that anymore, so they max E so its on a super small cooldown, and building tank just lets you spam this ability constantly without dying with 1-2 abilities.
her e with some cooldown is faster than an auto attack
E does 130 damage at rank 5. Akali can spam it a handful of times before she goes ooe. Q refunds a little energy, but is limited by cooldown.
Tank Akali does not do that much damage. Like she really doesn't. Go try playing Tankali and see, unless you get really fed somehow you are not "bursting" anybody. There are so many champs who do more damage without building damage.
It's really a very suboptimal build. I saw one in a game I played as nasus, and despite the fact that the lane was basically freefarm for her since nasus tends to passive farm, she never actually did anything. no real cc, and subpar damage makes for a shitty tank. The only reason it works at all is because she can stick to people with her ult.
