If you get an S, you should just get an S.

S- just kind of ruins the joy in getting an S.

then get rid of all of the -'s and +'s so the S dosent feel left out. We wouldnt want to hurt S's feelings

Altough I don't see logic on ranks, I went 9/0 as Vayne and got S-, but when I went 18/6 I got S+.

... I would think that first is better because on lafter altough I killed stuff I was constantly dived and killed by enemy assassin and donating him my sprees. Even thou we won the game enemy Zed was really fed, mostly thanks to his dives on me. When on 9/0 game I just dominated my lane and proceeded to get kills until enemy surrender.

Your second game was longer, you probably took more objectives, farmed more, and had more kill participation.

It also depends on how well you do compared to your team. If your team score is 40/2 then getting 9/0 won't give you a higher score. If your team score is 20/25 then 18/6 is amazing.

It's interesting, I haven't quite figured out yet what exactly determines your grade. For instance: http://matchhistory.euw.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/EUW1/2123145537/31316644?tab=stats . In this match I went 22/0/8, but I got an S- . Honestly, I haven't gotten an S+ ever on an Adc, and I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing wrong.

So if anyone could provide me with that knowledge, that'd be great.

I'd really like to see a checklist next to your grade of some sort.

Things like: -Gold gained -Gold given to enemy -Objectives taken -Number of wards

Etc. Maybe with explanations next to them saying: "You're creep score was excellent, but you did not participate in many of your teams kills." Or something. My first S was as a Vel'koz support where I went 12/7/9. Until late game I was getting carried hard. I really don't understand the criteria for these grades.

Right now these grades are the League equivalent of getting an essay back from a professor with a huge B- at the top, but no comments telling you why or what you can do to improve.

I suppose the reason they don't want to say how the grading system works is because if people knew what to do to get a high grade, they would focus less on winning the match and more getting a good grade. Putting personal stats before teamwork, which is already a problem as it is. No need to make it worse.

So why bother give a grade at all if there's no way to know how to improve that grade? It's foolish to have one without the other.

At a guess, based solely on that match history, I'd say it's the lack of wards.

You never upgraded your trinket, you only placed 4 wards and swept 2. your cs was also low-ish for the time the game lasted. for those reasons you probably got an S-.

I don't really know what the grades are based on, I'm just making educated guesses.

Also test upgraded boots. I think S- is played well. Upgraded trinket is S. Upgraded boots is S+

It might be because I'm a top layer, but that's still an exorbant amount of kills. I think what someone else mentioned about needing to upgrade your trinket and ward is right.

You placed 4 wards THE ENTIRE MATCH. You literally placed a "get me vision of this spot to avoid a gank and catch someone out to fuck them up" once every 8 MINUTES. You get them free. There is no excuse for this. The CD on your shitty version of the trinket is only what? 120 seconds? I can't remember. You didn't even bother to upgrade it for a weak 250g. Yes, only 1.6% of the TOTAL GOLD YOU'VE EARNED for basically a free sightstone that doesn't take up an inventory slot. You didn't even purchase a pink ward. The ward that last fucking forever.

The sooner people realize THIS ISN'T FUCKING CALL OF DUTY AND KILLS ARE NOT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING, the sooner you will stop questioning why you only got an X ranking.

Your cs also could have been higher.

You seem a bit upset, but I do get where you're coming from. However. This was a match played with 4 of my friends, and ultimately, we were just fucking around. We played serious at the start, until I was like 6/0, because at that time I wanted to get as many kills, walk into the face of danger, and asked my support to keep me alive, both a challenge for him and me.

Normally I always buy a pink ward, though I must admit, I do have to ward more, and I do tend to forget to upgrade my trinket. My cs was crap, because guess what, I was going out of my way to get kills. At some point in the game I was just camping their fountain. Again, I get where you're coming from, I do. The reason why I didn't get an S+ has been cleared to me. However, you do seem really upset, which I don't think I deserve.

I've gotten 2 S+'s and each of them were from a come back. I went 16/9 with yasuo while being behind the game (teamwise) up until the nexus backdoor.

Don't feel bad. I went 30/8/16 as Teemo top with 234 minions during a 58.11 game ...... and i got A+. 3 turrets killed 1 inhib. I really do not understand the criteria for S

234 cs at 58 minutes is actually pretty bad. Among other things, you propably didn't ward as much, you didn't really help with objectives other than permanently pushing your lane. In addition, others have done better than you, if not just as good as you in a shorter window of time, which means people had great games with teemo without them taking an hour to finish, which also leads to the fact that compared to the rest of the teemos, you did average for that game. Warding also REALLY increases your rating, so buy and plant wards.

But to be fair, you played shitmo, big deal.

yeah 234 was the second highest cs, the only reason i was at that was because i was always in other lanes helping them, after... you know they fed and i had to make up for it. No I did not push my lane, i actually ended up pushing bot and mid more as well as saving my team from the fed kha'z. Furthermore i was also one of only 2 people on my team to use wards and the only one to upgrade the trinket. Don't let your hatred of a champ make you assume stuff. Most teemos don't get many kills anymore and usually die a LOT more than i did.

Kill participation seems pretty important. I always upgrade boots and usually remember to upgrade trinket. But the only game I've ever gotten an S was when I went full-on monster-mode with Skarner (9/1/17) by working with Kat. I would initiate and she would finish.

That's like saying get rid of the +/- all together. They come with every grade when you hit that area (S+. S-. A+, A-. B+, ect).

A lot of other games have S SS and SSS ranks, it is whatever - S+ feels rewarding to get when you get it

The whole system is pretty broken right now though. Today I spammed Ekko in Normals, got an A+ for a 6/11/X game with low CS, then a C- for a 12/2/8 game that I had the seconds highest farm in the game on (Second only to our splitpushing Fiora that farmed both of the sidelanes once we started teamfighting down mid). The system also doesn't take awkwards jungle/supports into account either, so a support Malphite is expected to have the same farm as top lane Malphite to get a good ranking, and solo lane Sona is showed in rewards because it holds her to Support CS standards.
