What League TRULY needs.

It's not more reworks, although those are needed. It's not solo queue, sorry guys. It's not more skins, champions, or otherwise.

#League needs a dedicated and clear PRIORITY SYSTEM.

If you don't know what a priority system is, in video games (predominantly fighting games in my experience) certain moves will have priority over others. This means that if one move is higher than the other, it'll "beat" that move. Priority systems are nothing new to video games and are often another lever of balancing things. Moves with high priority may often be slow, have large drawbacks or otherwise.

Right now, League's priority system is a mess. I don't think there even is a dedicated one. The priority of this game seems to be "Whoever goes second", which shouldn't be the case in some situations. If Tristana is mid jump, why can she be flung two miles back because Singed used his E before she completed the animation? Why can Ezreal blink OUT of Blitzcrank's grab because he happened to press it? Master Yi's alpha strike is riddled with situations like this were certain moves just hit him regardless of his alpha-status or not.

I'm not going to sit here and say what should be high priority and what should be low priority. I -will- say it'd be immensely beneficial for League in the long term to have a clear and defined system of which moves and abilities take priority over others, even if it's as simple as Mobility > CC or otherwise.

??????????

This has absolutely nothing to do with fighting games outside of the mechanic. It just means that in certain situations abilities won't get beat out because they staggered and went second.

still, its one step closer

Slippery slope fallacy doesn't hold water here.

There's never going to be a point where League becomes a fighting game unless they literally make a fighting game.

its not even a slippery slope argument.

I just find it funny that you are saying "lets be more like that other genre that has become really awful"

Uh. What?

Fighting games are amazing now? They had a literal renaissance?

did they?

:P cuz that infinite combos in every game was getting kindof annoying but that was a pretty long time ago when I gave up on that shit xD

its intended that tristana can be cc'ed out of her rocket jump or else being a ranged damage carry with garenteed get away would be op much like ezreal. this is already part of the reason why no one likes to play meele tank or fighters characters because you aren't guaranteed your damage easily or guaranteed ti have as much damage as some one ranged unless you are assassin

And my point still stands: There are rules and regulations ESPECIALLY for these characters that don't apply to others. It's a murky ruleset that says XYZ works but ABC doesn't, even if they're the same. There needs to be clarity and unity among these abilities so that it makes sense.

there are rules all dashes can be stopped mid dash except certain ones that are cc immune or ezreals one case where nothing not even death will stop ezreal's essence shift once its started. from a champion designer that likes to design annoying and op champions. and killed self reliant sion with sions rework and made it so that he cant do anything with out a team which they seem to like to push onto tanks but never onto an adc or mage

A lot of those interesting interactions are due to the 6 year old nature of the base game and the way moves are coded. It would take a complete remake of the game to fix those interactions.

It's still possible without completely overhauling the game engine. See: The rewrite of the missile code.

Most sensible game design recommendation I've seen on these boards in a long time. Maybe ever.

This is quite a good idea, but I think that this would only create other problems: if we make it so that some skills will always prevail on others, no matter what, some champs will become too oppressive, while other will just become weaker than they are. I'm not talking of particular champs, but usually champs like blitz will be broken by this system either way: if his grab beats everything, he's too strong, so he needs to be nerfed into oblivion and be so useless that if he grabs an enemy he will just die or make a 1-1 trade but, if his grab doesn't beat anything, he would need so many buffs that he would become something like post-rework pre-nerfs Morde, since to compensate the weakness of his grab, his kit would need A LOT of power put somewhere else (right now, blit'z power comes all from the erq/qer/qre combo, so if the q is useles, he becomes useless) so maybe more damage, so much tankyness that he would become unkillable, something like that.

That's a balancing situation however. As I said, priority is another tool to buff or nerf certain champions. There's also a lot of hidden power/weakness in certain champions as I mentioned above such as Tristana or Ezreal.

Priority would be more aimed at fixing things such as CC or mobility spells more than raw damage or otherwise.

Yeah, on that I agree with you. But for ez and tristana they should just change from a delayed dash/blink to a normal dash/blink. I think that delayed skills are skills you're supposed to be able to stop, so they're just not working as they should: it doesn't make sense for a skill that changes your position to have a delay so that the enemy can react and stop it, if it will just move you out anyway even when the enemy stops you. But yeah, like every change it would have both pros and cons to it, it's just a matter of which of the two systems (this one or the live one) would perform better, meaning it gives the best pro and cons for the gameplay intended.
