Autofill has major issues

It requires a much larger champion pool as well as more rune pages. It will probably just lead to more dodges. If I could pick 3 roles instead and be guaranteed one of them, it would be far better.

The main problem with autofill is that is the **OLD CHAMP SELECT ** so what is the point of the longer queue times if your not going to give me the roles I selected.

At a certain point your need to just accept something has failed and move on.

I have a feeling this is an interim, short-term solution. It should only be for players who like selecting "fill" and are thus prepared to play any role. When they collect more data on how it is used and its effect on queue times they would probably expand the feature in a way that makes it more versatile and further enhances queue times.

Issue is always existed via pick order. You used to get your role based solely off of RNG of what pick you were. Maybe you could get lucky and get a switch to your preferred role, but this is the league player base we are talking about and they don't have a reputation for being nice.

Same issue with a different name that people are only now pretending matters when in the past you were just told to get over it. DQ is Elo Hell and Autofill is just Pick Order. Only now for some reason these same old tired excuses hold weight.

Keep in mind that this fix, is mainly going to show up in high ELO, cause that's where the majority of the problems with DQ lies.

And by that point, you should already be familiar with many champions and have a large enough pool.

Again, why not allow queuing for 3 roles instead of arbitrarily picking 3/5 for fill. I'd rather be in control of the decision and 3 roles isn't even that much considering you'd get the top 2 most games.

Because picking three, even picking four roles has the exact same problem as the current system - you put Fill or Support for any of them and you get Support, don't and you keep your longer queue time.

I think auto fill is premature, and that ensuring you wouldn't get your secondary more than 50% of the time (and never more than twice back-to-back) would have dramatically helped the queue times. But Riot took months to do anything, in which time anyone willing to play Support was forced away from it, creating steadily longer queue times.

It does not require a much larger champion pool. It requires you to have 2 extra "good" champions Which you can get for 900 IP total (soraka OP).

Fill isn't "all roles": Fill = support. Get with the program.
