Can anyone please explain me how the ranking system works?

I won 6 out of 10 of my ranking games, 3 of them being super good scores (13/5/10, 0/0/12 and 6/1/4), other wins being good but not fantastic (7/9/24, 3/8/22 and 3/5/19) and 2 of my losts being actualy not that bad, ( 4/7/6 and 7/13/23) and the two other being bad games where I legit couldn't do anything, first one because my team wouldn't group, the other one because we had a troll and we ended up with 4 tanks and me being Ashe, Tham Kench would just jump on me and kill me every time, and if he didnt Ahri or Teemo would dive me under tower.

Last season, I climbed from bronze 2 to silver 2 (was quite proud of myself by the way)

And now I get ranked bronze 1, same ranking as my friend who lost 7 of her games and won 3

Can someone explain me how the system works? I just can't understand right now. I'm not here to flame or anything, I would just like to know how this is possible?

I am not sure but I wanna say that the first few placement matches changes your mmr more than the later matches do. So for example first 3 games might be worth 50 points of elo while the last 3 might be worth 20 or something. So therefor if you lose the first three games, then u would basically need to win the remaining 7 to stay at the same rank. This is a theory i have and is not proven so ya

well 2 of my losts were the last game i played, my games went like this:

lose win lose win win win win win lose lose

also i don't think my MMR is bad since I play a lot with Gold friends and we usualy win...

No. If you want to be technical about the mmr (which really doesn't matter this season you are going to be lower than you were last season no matter what and RIOT told us that already) then here it is: It depends on who you are playing against. If the team you are against has a higher mmr then you then you get more mmr for winning or lose less mmr for losing. If they are lower than you and you still lose well that's gonna hurt.

To be more helpful though: EVERYONE is getting dropped AT LEAST a full tier lower than what the ended with last season. I was silver 5 now I am Bronze 5. How many games you won means absolutely nothing. A player won 9 out of 10 and same thing happened. I was 5 out of 10. It really makes no difference. Just get the games out of the way and try to climb this horrible ranked system if it seems like something you care about.
