Yasuo Tornado width deserves to be reduced. Sincenerly coming from Yasuo main
Title Its so fking wide.. and yasuo deserves nerf anyway

My list for yasuo goes like this:
the [redacted] turret dive range thing.
internal cool down between e at higher ranks increase
internal cool down preventing E+W / W+E combo.

This is how you make a champion feel clunkier(aka the worst kind of nerfs)
Yasuo can't EW He can EQW
All 3 horrible suggestions
You are a type of person who thinks REMOVING condemn > aa , Headbut > aa , Nidalee pouncing canceling , Graves R>E are good changes
Suggestions 2 and 3 are stupid. The first one is perfectly fine and should've had that dumb feature removed from release anyways.
Except Alistar Headbutt+Auto made him an incredibly unfair top laner when Headbutt+Sheen Auto was over 200 of unavoidable damage that you could do absolutely nothing about on a fairly short cooldown. You go up to cs? 1/5 health. You go up again? 1/5 health. Fight him back? 1/5 health and you are still sent flying.
Except i played back in the time it made him "unfair" it really wasnt that bad
Also few patches after they changed Trinity stats overall made it less fitting and less viable and they didnt revert a change. Alistar doesnt even gain ad anymore making an attackspeed stat waste
Even if they bring back W>AA good luck getting stinger without being flamed by your fking team and without them opening you wont even reach fking trinity
They ruined Iceborn alistar by this changes. Supports were getting it
Irelia also had unavoidable 200 dmg with her bladesurge > sheen and there is also nothing you can do because its fking irelia..
You actually can fight Irelia back because last I checked Bladesurge doesn't have a 600 unit knockback attached to it. If Irelia Bladesurges on you she is stuck in melee range of you where you CAN fight back as opposed to Alistar punting you halfway down the lane where you cannot interact with him.
Oh sweet child of mine fighting irelia is a horrible idea XD
Yes if she only Had q as an ability then yeah you could try something
That's called animation cancel
I dunno, the size, range and width doesn't bother me, but being able to zone for 10 seconds is kinda annoying. Have it raise as you max Q.
Yasuo was originaly intended as an ADC champion. Clearly its working first melee champ to be viable in botlane given that me and few other people reached high elo with him
Being able to hold A tornado is important for an ADC yasuo mains
Which is why I ll never agree with this sort of nerf
Was he though? I know he was created to be a Attack Damage hyper-carry, but I'm not sure he was actually designed to replace the marksman role in bot lane.
When he wasn't created, the term marksman didn't exist. They were all lumped under the adc role.
When riot made him, he was intended to be a viable bot lane adc pick
He was designed more around being a melee in mid, with windwall to block their skillshots, but was also supposed to be a balanced botlaner.
He was made in Season 3, long after the creation of the marksman role.
I'm not sure I believe you.
The term marksman started getting used season 5 or 6 iirc.
Till then, they were just referred to as adcs, whether they were melee or ranged.
But if you don't want to believe me, go look up the post riot made when they released yasuo, where they stated how they came up with his kit and why
He was made to be a midlane champion, it's why his tornado has a long cooldown and why he has his passive shield (trading windows and such blah blah blah). Anyone who tells you otherwise is talking out their ass.
tell me why yasuo tornado width needs to be reduced even though it has a super slow speed AND tell me how he needs a nerf when he's about 50% winrate
Because I reached challenger Playing Yasuo ADC yep playing him as ADC
He is tier 1 Flex pick in 3 lanes. Most banned champion past years
Bassicly a mordekaiser which has CC mobility windwall and more cc XD

As someone who has faced Yasuo ADCs before, with the right support there is honestly very little an ADC/Support Duo can do against Yasuo bot lane. :/ His Shield makes him very hard to poke out, his windwall can literally just deny all of the ADC's damage and also make it so, once he's a head, he can use it to block them from farming, and his mobility makes it hard for alot of supports to CC and/or peel him off the ADC once he's there. He also has an extremely strong laning phase that transitions rather smoothly into a good mid and late game as well. He'll scale faster and harder than most ADCs as well just by nature of being a melee ADC; they tend to allow them shittons of leadway in that regard.
Alistar/Yasuo or Nami/Yasuo or even Blitz or Braum with Yasuo is absolutely awful to deal with and completely ass. I agree that he does deserve a nerf.
He can hold on to his tornado for a really long time, it provides a lot of threat and he shouldn't be able to do so :(
Same thing as old TF used to go around holding gold card making it hard to go near him too.

Totally agree
I'd like this as a nerf.
You have to look at it from an ADC yasuo perspective
This literaly guts him
And Keep in mind yasuo was intended to be played as an ADC . Eventhough you ll rarely see him anywhere but top/mid.
His Q is just way to wide. Everyone can confirm this which is why I suggest it as a nerf

But the issue is the same as with pre nerfs TF, Yasuo can sit on the tornado for ages and then just all in if you ever go near him.
It's super frustrating to play against, even beside his windwall which i can reluctantly accept since Fiora's W also exist.
While I think his tornado being too wide is somewhat of an issue, I'd rather see him expend a % of flow to E. It's already hard for some champions to even be near him to burn his shield before he's on top of them. Yasuo has a lot going on and if he's ahead and your minion wave comes it's like certain death in some situations no matter how far you are away from him. At least if he needed to expend flow to E his shield wouldn't be up when he was 3/0 and you were like 0/2. meaning you could actually somewhat punish him. And if he E'd too many times he'd be out of flow entirely meaning he couldn't E through a whole minion wave. If it became too bad of a problem for him they could always fix it by giving him back some flow if he hit a champion with a tornado or something.
Another thing I'd like to see is to make it where he can't W after the fact and ignore a projectile that was right on top of him because his wind wall moves forward the moment he casts it. If they did that I might not even worry about the E problem, because that alone is kinda BS. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Yasuo, but I do hate some of the things he's able to do, especially things that cover up mistakes. If he hits E when a projectile is visibly on top of him, it should hit, regardless. I've seen it done and done it plenty of times. I'd also personally like to see him stop building friggin Frozen Mallet.
[deleted]
So when he tries to get to the enemy with his shit base stats he won't have his shield. Good idea.
Think of compensation buffs.
This isn't a feature nor a bug - it's just how hitboxes works in this game.
He shouldn't HAVE to go straight in on them, since he's supposed to be using his Q+tornado to go in on them. He should have to expend safety for a guaranteed tornado, since his E tornado is a guaranteed ult, he gets a free shield after he ults anyways so why shouldn't he be able to take some damage beforehand since he gets a guaranteed ult+shield anyways after he goes in.
As for the guy you said didn't get challenger, and asked if he was sure he was a Yasuo main, he's at least rank 1 on the diamond 1 ladder on the account he posted on according to op.gg, with a 55% win rate on Yasuo, which means he could have been recently demoted from Master tier at the very least, with 217 RANKED Yasuo games played this also means he's played more than just a few Yasuo games so I'd consider him a Yasuo main if he won 119/217 Yasuo games, especially as ADC Yasuo(though that I can't claim to be sure of since his preferred role appears to be 50% Mid/25% ADC. I'd say at the very LEAST He plays Yasuo Mid mostly and queues for Mid/Bot and plays Bot lane as Yasuo if he doesn't get Mid.
[deleted]
Since when? He is supposed to go as wants to. That's why he has tools to do exactly what I said.
So he should be restricted to his tornado? This would just mean compensation buffs to his Q.
Also his tornado is telegraphed is slow, you aren't going to hit with it anytime soon.
It isn't because once you have tornado the enemy will back off.
Because he has shit base stats for his class and that's why he has his shield. Without this shield they would buff his base stats. He is a melee champ and HE HASN'T HAD mr lvl scaling since the lastest changes.
He has been playing ranked, so he didn't get demoted from not playing and he wasn't on a losing streak. Which means in no way he was a challenger.
You're missing the point. If you are in range to EQ someone, they're not gonna get away from you if you're in a minion wave. Guaranteed ult, guaranteed shield refresh. They can back off if you have tornado and aren't already in a minion wave, but then you're zoning them from the wave for an entire 10 seconds if they're too scared to get near you. Also Yasuo is mostly played in top lane(not by a WHOLE lot but still), I wouldn't say he needs any MR/level scaling to deal with in top lane, and he's also most successful there(Almost 53% win rate compared to 47% win rate mid).
As for the OP, just because he isn't challenger now doesn't mean he never was. I can't prove he was, but he's high enough for me to believe he could have been.
As I said though, my main problem with Yasuo is certain BS like his shield blocking stuff that's already hit him because it moves forward from his center. I think his shield should start a bit in front of him instead to fix that, because if I see something go right on top of him and then it magically dissipates with a shield moving forward despite it being right over his chest, I call it BS. I've done it myself and it just felt dirty because I reacted too late but still took no damage.

- flash beats EQ also any blink beats EQ( around the 10 second mark) https://plays.tv/video/5780d8585842a3142a/press-1-for-the-boy?from=user
- if your running to a minion wave you're directly playing to yasuo's advantage
- if your getting zoned by his slow af Q then your either melee or he is 3/0 and this is the point where most champs will one combo you so yasuo doing it isnt anything special
- he was designed to be a mid laner, seeing as he has a better winrate top lane shows that he is weak in his designed role and players had to figure out a way to work with his shitty base stats
- in top lane its a shit ton easier to gank him to so it directly works against inexperienced yasuo's because his kit auto pushes waves unless his plays it perfectly or passively( fun fact most yasuo players dont break a 50% winrate till about 100 games played)
- no the shield doesnt block things that has already hit you, visuals are not the same as hit boxes. ( look at csgo ) changing where the shield spawns would make fighting point blank range feel impossible even if you time the wall properly.
I am not missing the point. If you are playing ranged champion you have a chance to run away or even punish him for getting close to you.
If you're playing a ranged champion you should have a chance to run away, or punish him for getting close to you. He shouldn't get to do it for free. That's like saying Riven's E should automatically place you on top of any target you have your cursor on. She uses her mobility while sacrificing her shield. It's the same concept.
His EQ combo can be player around by walking towards Yasuo when he is going to knock you up. This way when he uses his E on you he will lande behind you and fail his combo. It can't if you're the one he E's on top of. It's also an AOE ya know. Without his shield you can freely punish him and outpoke him. His Windwall will save him from one projectile as it has ~24 seconds long CD.
That's the point, you should be able to poke him, but if you're considering this being a marksman they may get one auto attack off before he's literally on top of them. Lucian may get some more damage off, but he's Lucian and probably would counter Yasuo anyways. Also it wouldn't save him from ONE projectile. It doesn't vanish after one projectile hits it. It stays there for around 4 seconds. It's also 26 second cooldown starting off, and reduces to 18 second late game. If you're still using your "ranged champion" excuse, then it will literally block everything as long as Yasuo plays around it for 4 seconds. That's plenty of time for him to kill one.
Since when toplane is the entire game? He still has garbage base stats for his class.
Look at other skirmishes and check their base stats.
Also he has a fuckton of hard counters on top.
It isn't, but if he expended a flow shield to dash onto someone in a teamfight isn't he kinda stupid? Yasuo in teamfights either tries to initiate with his tornado or waits for a support to land a displacement so he can follow up. His "garbage" stats are to make up for the fact that he has so much in his kit compared to other skirmishers. I wouldn't also call them "garbage". I just compared him to Riven, another skirmisher. She has about 100 more health at level 18, 8 less health regen at level 18, 50 less auto attack range, about 3 more AD, 0.05 less attack speed at level 1 but 3.4% more attack speed at level 18(Yasuo actually builds attack speed though),3.7 more armor at level 18, 14.9 more MR, and 5 less move speed. Sure about 15 MR is a difference but he just has other stats in different areas to make up for that, namely a LOT more health regen, attack range, and 5 movement speed. They both seem to be pretty similar in stats.
Windwall*. And if he blocked it then it didn't hit him. It's how hitboxes work in this game.
Yeah, I just said shield because it was easier to type. And not really, if he blocked it it's because he cast it right AS it hit him. The thing starts in the middle of his chest and moves forward. It's not visually correct at all despite how hitboxes work. The hitbox shouldn't be there in the first place.
"Additional Information:
Wind Wall starts blocking projectiles on-cast (despite not being fully formed) and grants Sight icon sight over a small area."
I don't hate Yasuo, I can beat him most of the time, and I know he's not broken because no one plays him perfectly(I remember hearing about the best player at League saying if someone could play Yasuo perfectly he would be the most broken thing in this game though). The things I DO hate about Yasuo are the things that don't make sense about him, or are just ridiculous.
- K flash beats two abilities with pretty low cooldowns, sounds about right. As for blinks, not many of those in top lane, or at all in the game. Katarina has a blink, Ezreal has a blink, but outside of that I can't think of many others.
- You HAVE to be in the minion wave at the laning phase, unless you want to just sit at your tower all game, and that is not a good feeling.
- Being ZONED by an ability means that he hasn't used it yet, he's holding on to it so that he CAN use it on you. Top lane also means you're going to be in a melee lane 90% of the time.
- He was designed to be a mid laner, yes, but they found him better top lane because he has trouble getting on top of someone who tries to stay away from the minion wave and farm from a distance. In melee matchups you HAVE to be in the minion wave to farm, Yasuo wants that.
- Maybe it is easier to gank him in top lane, maybe it's not. I've rarely ever had anyone gank top lane so I don't know about that. I have had some good junglers, but most of the time they either leave top lane alone or come at the most inopportune times.
- The shield doesn't have to start right at the middle of his body. That is just TOO easy to block things. As I've said, I've done it myself and it just feels dirty to shield as an afterthought to an ultimate ability and still get away with no damage. It's like "Oh thank god that blocked that Jinx ultimate when I was at low enough health to die despite it literally being in my chest". It also visually doesn't make sense as the wind wall comes from Yasuo slashing his sword. Does he slice himself in half every time he casts the ability or something? I get how hitboxes work, but there's no point in hitboxes being THAT visually different. That's Blitzcrank hooking you despite it visually being 10-20 units away.
he is just the dps version of talon top.
thee champs all did it but it was ok cuz " thats there meta now?"
5 its straight fact. yasuo has nothing good for consistent escape and his kit auto pushes the wave. a little bit of pressure goes a long way.
- dash work two, its not like cait isnt a thing or lucain isnt. he isnt immortal top either he just bullies the shit out of melee matchups but you know who straight up wins those?

- NO you dont stand to the left ro right of the minion wave not in the center of it secondly in mid lane even standing in the center gives you plenty of time to react to yasuo going in. and even if you dont assuming you didnt wiff a CC in the first place or you can probably stun him. just be mindful of when he has or doesnt have windwall, damage abilities first cc second if he has windwall. 3.you can only be zoned consistently in top lane and even then it only really works when you behind because you can dodge it and further more there are top laners who straight up kick the shit out of yasuo. him having Q doesnt auto-magically make him zone you, him probably having a decent lead and the ability to all in you does which probably means your behind in the first place. in otherwords you had to fuck up before hand in order for Q onlying to be an issue.
- your directly saying yasuo is weak in the role he was intended to play so he has to play in a riskier way in order to bully people.

- it does make sense for point blank combat, which should a melee fighter at any time get weaker the closer you are to him. if he can cluck away an ult by timing it very last second thats good on the yasuo player. if he gets lucky then so what, the adc class is built on rng. also dont try to argue the logic on how magic works, that by definition is impossible because i could always say " because magic" and there is no valid argument to counter that as magic isnt real. and further more compared to morgana thresh and blitz Q windwall is fairly accurate also fizz R
2.You don't stand near the minion wave at all when Yasuo has his Q tornado up, ever. That's basically how you play against him. Guess what that's also called? You guessed it, zoning. Also no, I just played a Yasuo game(did terribly because it's been forever since I've even played Yasuo and I got camped hardcore probably just for playing him, also leveled E more than Q because I forgot about those E nerfs he got) against a Rumble, someone who probably could have shit on me level 1, and any time I used my Q twice to get my tornado, I'd just hold on to it. Do you know how long that Rumble stayed away from his minion wave? The entire duration I had tornado. Once I threw it at the last second I had it, he was back in the middle of the minion wave. I still managed to outCS him despite him being kills ahead of me because I was zoning him from the wave.
A lot of champions find their place in lanes that they aren't intended for. It's moreso just that it's EASIER for him to lane against melee champions because he has a lot in his kit and it works better against someone who has to last hit up close just like he does. A Mage isn't gonna be in the middle of a minion wave trying to CS, so they can kinda keep Yasuo for going all in on them AS EASILY as someone top lane, who has to walk up to a minion to get an auto attack off on them.
I'll just leave this here:
"Additional Information:
Wind Wall starts blocking projectiles on-cast (despite not being fully formed) and grants Sight icon sight over a small area."
Despite the fact it hasn't even appeared yet, it still blocks projectiles that hit him in the midsection. It's pretty BS, and I feel dirty when I do it, I don't see how anyone else can't. Also Fizz's ultimate has been constantly fixed to be more and more reliable, and they've done several attempted to try to fix the others. I also don't see how it could be fairly accurate when it blocks stuff despite not even appearing before blocking a projectile. Also I just looked at the animation, he throws his hand out, but the projectile appears from his chest and moves with his hand before his hand even moves forward. How is that accurate at all?
He's also not as risky as he used to be, considering he builds a friggin frozen mallet.
As for it making sense for point blank combat, there's only one ability in the entire top lane I can think of that's a projectile that would be used point blank and that's Riven's ult(and you should probably be stunned during the time she casts it anyways). Aside from maybe Rumble's flamespitter but you can dance around it, and you're gonna get hit by it anyways once or twice when you W. I should also mention I've seen a few gifs of Yasuo's W acting WAY wonkier than just what I've mentioned. I don't remember the thread because there's a new Yasuo thread every week but there are some pretty ridiculous things it can do. If you want some examples, here are a few:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxtDg1tCgZk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqbWfJ0PPYE
FYI I never said he was immortal, and as I said, Yasuo isn't broken because no one can use him to his full potential(as the best player in League iirc said he would be the most broken thing in existence if someone DID play him to his full potential). I did say that he has some BS tied into his kit though, and his W is the main thing.
[deleted]
First video is not a Yasuo's W bug, but Ezreal's R bug https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjvlBTIeZYI
His ult DID hit him but it dealt no damage.
Second one - if Yasuo's W starts from the center while AFAIK hitboxes are circles, then Ashe's R hit right into circle hitbox of W.
Those are two separate things, Volphieus. If it was this EZREAL bug as you say(which is actually probably a hitbox thing, it winged him, and they fixed most hitboxes since then), then it would not have disappeared when it hit the wind wall. Also hitboxes are made up of squares or rectangles generally, in Wind Wall's case, it's a rectangle. You can also tell that it's the same occurance because they hit in the same spot. The wind wall starts before it appears, and starts in his center, which it shouldn't because things don't hit that should(Not to mention the animation suggests he uses his hand to push forward a wall of wind, and his hand doesn't start pushing at his center). Either way I think everyone can agree that he should get hit by something going through him to reach the wind wall.
[deleted]
Why the hell it would not have disappeared? It's a projectile, a global one, it SHOULD disappear.
You're right, it SHOULD, because it DID hit. If it DIDN'T HIT like this Ezreal "bug" you're talking about, then it would have went through the wind wall as well as Yasuo, since they're in the same hitbox. It was also a head on shot, unlike the "bug" you mentioned which was a hitbox inconsistency, in other words, that was not an Ezreal bug, but the same exact thing that happened in the other videos.
Depends on what was the real reason behind this.
The only "reason" behind this is that the hitbox is ridiculously in favor of Yasuo to the point that something CAN HIT HIM and he still dodges it, despite casting it late.
All I would like to see from Yasuo is a reduction in the time he is able to hold onto his 3rd Q. That entire window is basically a huge issue of getting zoned out while Yasuo farms uninterrupted past lvl 6
[{quoted}](name=Arcus Diabolus,realm=NA,application-id=3ErqAdtq,discussion-id=jEBEar5T,comment-id=0016,timestamp=2017-05-14T13:32:06.168+0000)

she does it
his E
most of his kit does it
Q
yasuo can only zone when he is far enough ahead to stand in your minions or if its a melee matchup which is that case he should be able to zone you as its a favorable matchup to him a majority of the time
Make it so actual projectiles are the only things affected by wind wall, not things like Viktor's Death Ray, or VelKoz's Void Rift. They aren't projectiles, but coded as such. If they can create an aoe code specifically for them, I'd stop bitching about wind wall.
EDIT: Stuff like Viegar's Q and Ult are what I consider projectiles, but things that visually are affecting the terrain shouldn't be affected by a friggin fart wall.
Then, make his ult only trigger on people he knocks up himself. They do that, and I have no problem with his tornado.
Then change his friggin shield passive to something like a speed boost when hit. I'd rather someone be able to run away when hit then become tankier.
Complicated to code.. Like ultra complicated
Oh for sure, but it's their own fault. They shouldn't have been so lenient with Wind Wall and Unbreakable's coding to begin with. It's only right that they fix it.
Wind Wall, and Last Breath, are the reasons Yasuo is so unhealthy for game balance. If they tighten up the coding on Wind Wall and Last Breath, he'll stop being seen as the cancer of mid lane.
I know it'll be complicated, and won't happen overnight, but all I'm asking is that Riot eventually fixes the problem.
EDIT: They dug a massive hole with their code. All I'm asking is that they start filling it a little bit at a time.
Wind Wall, and Last Breath, are the reasons Yasuo is so unhealthy for game balance.
Things that make Yasuo unhealthy according to the Boards:
Literaly saw like majority of this complaints on boards xd
He can QFlash and carry animation
I mean, it's not like everybody with champion-locked abilities (like Xerath's Q, Darius' Q, Cho'Gath's W, etc) can do that, right?
He screams Hasaki eventhough we never saw his key
That's his PTSD over being exile. He has a key, but not a lock to match anymore.
Literaly saw like majority of this complaints on boards xd
I think the only complaint I haven't seen yet would be "Why is he named 'Yasuo'?"
Actually saw that complaint
He is bassicly a first champion to start with Y and since him we have champions having their name start with all letters covered.
Someone said its the only reason this champion was released xd
