As a high elo Yasuo Main buffing Yasuo is mistake

Poske··219 votes·9,536 views

HE IS IN NO WAY SHAPE FORM OR EVEN HYPOTHESIS A WEAK CHAMPION CURENTLY

He is viable in 3 FKING DIFFERENT LANES

ADC yasuo is curently one of the most underated strategies in a game (HI fleet footwork buff)

And now this buff?

+20 Q damage +200 range ulti +buffed MR

All because immense skillcap champ doesnt have 50% winrate?

You know its bad when yasuo main doesnt want yasuo buff... I ll accept the free Challenger if he gets buffed, or not .. we all know he ll be 100% pick or bann if this goes through

Yes the Fervor removal hurt him Yes the fact that almost every single keystone is designed in just correct way so yasuo cant abuse it HURT HIM (Wish they did same to ez)

But yasuo deserved this nerf as he was OP

  • Press the attack is subpar since he switches targets
  • Lethal tempo decays in just right time so he cant airblade with 1 as item
  • Fleet footwork gives Ms which he doesnt really need + scales with firecanon which he doesnt build (best option imo)
  • Grasp has that initial cd
  • Klepto gives mana pots yay!
  • He isnt a great jungler so fk Dark harvest (WHICH IS a separate issue, Dark harvest is joke in lane)
  • Electrocute is just cute thats it..

It is clear as fk that keystones were designed in a precise way so yasuo cant abuse them. Funny how they couldnt do the same with Ezreal Its not even cute when Ezreal abuses something

Riot clearly thinks its ok for him to consistently abuse

How many challenger yasuo players there are? A bunch

Now lets take a look at volibear,Garen, most of juggernauts 0 even master mains 10/10 rito

I bet their next Idea ll be to buff the remaining non tier under 0 (-4) ADC so that he can join an ADC OVERLORD PARTY while other classes suffer

I agree. A lot of low-skilled players play Yasuo. A lot of people having to learn how to play Yasuo with the new Runes is going to offset the higher skilled players.

Riot is jumping the gun here, but, Riot also has to keep Cash Crop Yasuo relevant to the low-skilled player base.

If you want to look at the most played champions right now, they are the ADC. The slightly more mechanically intensive champions are not fairing well at all this preseason and Riot is kind of ignoring that issue. Yasuo of course gets the $$$pecial treatment.

Or maybe a 45% winrate champ who’s main keystone is about to get nerfed is bad who knows

You presented a statement that seems to want to differ, but somehow isn't?

The steam life3 votes

No you’re basically making a blanket statement with no evidence and farming upvotes because the circle jerk must go on. I’m saying he’s just a bad champ as the data suggests.

Data doesnt suggest that he is a bad champ unless the only thing you are looking at is global winrate

and a low winrate on a highskillcap champion should be expected

The problem is that while yasuo is a high skill cap champ, he also has a large and dedicated player base. Having a low winrate in that case implies that the dedicated players are not getting the gain in winrate that one would expect from achieving a certain level of mastery with yasuo.

For a high skill cap champion, that is not a good sign.

And, all in all, these buffs are relatively minor (excluding the mr buff) and won't do much except for maybe push him near to a 50% winrate midlane

HaIlMonitor2 votes

I wish people wold stop saying he has a high skill cap. His winrate gets lower the higher he goes, which is exactly the opposite of champs like Lee sin and Nid who are also high skillcap.

He is a pub stomper with a strong kit that makes it look hard.

Good in high elo =/= high skill cap

Lol, if you say so. Because that is exactly the opposite of what data says.

Not talking about yasuo specifically, but no, the data doesn't say anything about skill cap being directly connected to viability in different elo.

45% is low even for a high skill cap champion.

Ryze has problems in his kit - hence the 8 million reworks he’s had.

And not once have they reworked what makes him an issue; scaling off mana and having a point and click root which can be spammed given the right combo.

You are not a yasuo main and Fleet Footwork is garbage on him. Where did you see "a bunch of yasuo mains in challenger"? You use untrue statements to support your opinion.

it's his 2nd most played champion and he barely has a positive winrate with a negative KD in EUNE low masters in season 7..

HaIlMonitor52 votes

He didn't say a one trick. He plays two champs at masters tier, with 400+ games and over a 50% win-rate. You can act like a stuck up jerk, at least let the guy voice his opinion. You havent added any actual rebuttal to his statements except your own opinions, which you have accused him of. I see also though you are a Kat, Yas player so you just want freelo so you can get out of being hardstuck in diamond. Its cool though.

Anyways they specifically said they are buffing him because he is popular, not because they feel like he is super weak....

Honestly just fixing Mordekaiser 's bugs might just be a huge buff for him. But it seems like for every morde bug that is fixed, 2 more are discovered...

All things aside having over 400 matches with a champion while barely reaching 53% winrate and a shitty KDA doesn't strike me as if the champion was OP, considering there are champions in a much worse state whom mains are able to reach 60%+ winrates consistently.

why do players ALWAYS look at this damn KD? yasuo is used to get camped in high elo...

he have 54% WR on yasuo on 400 games, maybe not the best yasuo in the world but he's not that bad

yea but they kept talking about how you weren't really a yasuo main so i just told it was the same, let's call you yasuo main or yasuo player or whatever who care, the main point of this topic wasn't that

idk why the balance team started to being superficial at balancing (this since half S6/S7),i mean it seems like they only look at WR and popularity, and kit healty/mechanics (if he need some change because they feels bad)/skill cap/identity and other factors doesn't really matter (while they absolutely do)

The MR buff I definitely think is needed with the amount of damage and poke there is. Other than that the damage buff on Q and ult range buff is completely unneeded.

it does not take a high elo yasuo main to realize that

WubbaLubbaDubDab4 votes

it makes 0 sense to buff him.he already stomps low elo and that will make this worse,in high ppl people counter him because they are good players not cuz yasuo is weak.they have no idea what they are doing in riot

Suozahar6 votes

They are low elo for a reason dude, almost nobody below platinum knows how champs like Yasuo, Katarina, Zed or any other huge carry champ works and how to counter it.

hi ìm groot3 votes

Wait... if the champ is being buffed to balance him around lower tier play... and you think this would give you free challenger... why would you make an anti yasuo buff post? 0.o

This is an unpopular opinion that yasuo is still strong in the current rune system among high elo players. And people get challenger all the time from their champs suddenly becoming broken (Tobias).

Is this a troll post? XD

Its because everyone will bandwagon and ban Yasuo a shit ton.

I am one of the few who actually cares about the global balance of game rather then abusing freelo

He is strong but nothing is as good as fervor

Why does everyone think this is a troll post..

Spicy Rice3 votes

He's not being buffed around lower tier play though...

He has a 48% (or so) winrate overall, which steadily decreases as you get into the higher tiers, with diamond+ winrates being around 44%.

And remember, this is a champion with some of the most dedicated mains in the game. This implies that it's not because they are just bad at yasuo, but rather that he is in such a state, that even extremely experienced yasuo players are struggling to make him work

HaIlMonitor2 votes

Rengar was like that for months, they gave him 3 armor and BAM he was fixed. They could have easily done something similiar and BAM yas would have been fixed, but the bias is there.

Most of your yasuo games you have a negative score. So the buff is a good idea.

Dragon Zyra4 votes

He has 61% wr in preseason and 54% in 400 games during season. Those are pretty good ratios and even more at his elo, gotta love the BRONZE player questioning a master and calling him out. Yikes.
