i recent problem i've run into....please help. any experience jglers out there, help please.

i recently picked up jg. i like nunu a lot. the only problem i've ran into is that everytime i pick nunu, the enemy team insta counters me. when jg monsters spawn, the enemy team is already crawling all OVER MY JUNGLE to see what buff i'm goin for first, and most of the time they try to kill me. happens to me at least 80% of my game, it's so frustrating because then i'm just plain useless trying to catch up and farm as fast as possible. and if i keep spending my money in wards, and pink wards, i'm just not building any items.

i tried doing a sighstone build to i still get same results. the bad thing about sightstone is that, if my team is feeding, then 800 gold just went to waste, and i could of invest in something better like armor or magic resist

please, does anyone have any pointers for jgling with nunu?

p.s his ult is probably the hardest ult in the game to land. any tips on this too?

Nunu is a great jungler, the problem is that he is a great TEAM pick. If you are playing normals or solo queue you are left to fend for yourself a lot more often. You unfortunately need to pick a jungler that can 1v1 effectively.

Basically this^.

Nunu can 1v1 effectively. Just need to pick your target correctly. His snowball slows and removes attack speed, so he loves picking off champions that like to auto attack: https://youtu.be/_PNrjRHg9dU

I should have said, some one who can 1v1 MORE effectively with NO items or very few items. There are not many champions in the early levels of the game that nunu will beat. Like OP was saying, he is getting invaded early and getting behind. If Lee Sin wants to 1v1 Nunu at lvl 2 and steal his buff, Lee Sin probably gets what he wants.

EDIT: I think I just realized that is you playing nunu in the video? Do you normally stream jungle games?

Well, Nunu won't get a kill, but he WILL get the buff in that situation. And piss off the enemy lee sin as he moonwalks and laugh spams away. Know what I mean? So you win the 1v1 by being up in gold and experience while wasting his time.

And yeah, that's me! I stream 4-5 nights a week for a few hours. Best Sejuani NA, but she's permabanned right now so learning new junglers. Nunu and Singed are my favorites right now! Would love to talk shop if you want to swing by the stream, love to theory craft in diamond solo queue: http://twitch.tv/gundaymonday

I will definitely check the stream out. I have been trying to switch over into the jungle to help get myself up the ranks.

Happy to help if I can. Don't know everything, but know enough to be dangerous and take out challenger teams in tournament play. Hope to see you around!

For his ult, I've always found that Nunu is better at counterengaging than engaging. Wait for the enemy to jump on you, then use your ult while all their gap closers and cc are on cooldown and watch them struggle to get away while your team CC's them into your ult.

I've personally never found Nunu a great force of nature, however there are some ways to approach the problem. Say the enemy team attempts to take your first blue. Ask your team to leash or ward around the area so you can see them coming. Plop down your ward in river at the appropriate time and you'll have the advantage. Second, keep track of monster health so you can correctly smite and steal a creep kill from those pesky plumbers. Lastly, if they're positively in your jungle 100% of the time, that means they can't go in theirs! A free 1-2 camps in their jungle before ganking a lane is a sure-fire way to catch the enemy jungler off guard. (P.S. I Discovered this the first time I fought Rek'Sai, when she was op as hell. after going 0/5, I decided to try something new. I went in their jg, killed 1-2 camps, and hard camped bot lane and got the adc fed. We ended up winning the game)

Overall, Jungling is a learning experience no matter how good you are and there really is no right and wrong way to go about it. Just be creative, and always know when to play aggressive and when to go defensive. That's all the info you can bleed from this JG main. Good luck, and see you out on the Rift!

Nunu should never be a first pick champion unless you know your teammates will coordinate with you and that you can trust them. Nunu relies heavily on counterjungling his opponent to get them really behind, and the best way to keep him from doing so is to counter jungle him right back, usually trying to kill him. As Nunu, ALWAYS get sightstone, it is never 800 wasted gold, ever, especially since your consume buff and Cinderhulk multiplier make it give a lot more health than you'd think. It is far more cost efficient than buying lots of wards, and means you can get a sweeper trinket to check around yourself while jungling.

As Nunu, always counter jungle. Forget ganks entirely as Nunu, unless you see a golden opportunity throwing itself in your lap. You job is to hard core counter jungle the enemy jungler, relying on your consume and smite to quickly clear camps and get out. You impact the game by making the other jungler meaningless, not by affecting lanes (which is another reason you need to have a reliable team in order to use him). Just get every supportive+defensive utility item you can that is appropriate to the match, and hold out for team fights when you become an absolute nuisance to the enemy team, because you are incredibly tanky and help peel for you allies. If your opponents keep running into you jungle, it is because they expect you to be doing the exact same thing to them (because that is all Nunu is good at). Don't act like they are trying to set you behind, they are trying to not let you set them behind. Just because they invade your camps does not mean you should just farm up. Nunu doesn't care about being farmed up or fighting the enemy jungler. Steal his camps, and if you ever see them face to face, bloodboil yourself, snowball them, and run away spamming laugh (I'm serious about that laugh thing, it makes them go on tilt really hard a lot of the time).

ward have team mates ward. if you get invaded counter invade. they go to your blue you go to theirs

Whoa whoa whoa. You're having trouble with nunu early? Let me give you some tips:

  1. The entire map is your jungle.
  2. Don't start in your jungle. You have a smite on a 10s cooldown that heals you. Take their jungle.
  3. No one can outsmite you. Q + Smite does more damage to creeps than the enemy jungler.
  4. Buy nunubot skin, spam laugh.
  5. If they're in your jungle as 5, that's fine, go take the big creep from every camp in their jungle. Or just go solo baron. Because you're nunu and you can do that.

The ult is tricky. You want to wait until their crowd control abilities are blown before charging up. You also want to wait for them to be slowed without an escape as well. If both of these are true, you can just walk up to them and ult. Kind of like this: https://youtu.be/IT92yU8Uud4

Other tactics with the ult. Do it from the fog of war. Get a pink ward, drop it in a bush, wait for enemy team to try and clear it. My favorite is to put a pink ward in plain sight next to a bush. Someone will start clearing it. Start your ult and laugh as you do 2k damage to them and then moonwalk on their corpse. Gotta get creative!

Most of playing nunu right is having the correct attitude. The world is your jungle, eat everything. GL if you keep playing him!

EDIT: I've been playing Nunu a lot on my twitch stream now that Sejuani is permabanned. Happy to answer all your questions and give you some pointers if you swing by. http://twitch.tv/gundaymonday

this essentially those 5 steps will make you a nunu master

Lucent Rengar1 votes

did i read correctly? solo baron? even with full build i can't solo baron. thx for the tips. whats your twitch? i wanna see some nunu action

GundayMonday1 votes

Twitch link is above. Riot turns it into a video picture? But yeah, at max cdr, with Q maxed, with some armor, you can solo the baron. Easier (and smarter to at least duo it though!)

its probably because most nunu's will counter jungle hard and they are trying to set you back far enough to get their jungler ahead so if they see you in the jungle their junlger will have a better time killing you
