What makes an assassin?

I'd like Riots opinion on this, but I'm fine with no response. What makes a champion an assassin and do champions (either secondary or primary) fulfill this category?

I think its the ability to do a lot of dammage to a single target very quickly with having high mobility or be hard to detect ex. Akali Khazix Pantheon Shaco Leblanc Ekko Talon Kassadin Zed

Some assassins have stealth as a MAJOR part of their kits like: Rengar (his ultimate), Evelynn (HER PASSIVE!), Teemo (Also his passive. YES HE IS CLASSIFIED AS AN ASSASSIN USING THE IN-GAME CLIENT! Although more of a lying patiently in wait assassin), Twitch (also a marksman/assassin like Teemo but can move while in stealth but length of stealth is VERY limited on his Q which upon de-stealth gives him an attack speed steroid to make the deadly kill that much faster [if well postioned and VERY fed])

Huge scary burst in a very short amount of time is a big one mainly.

Or even just locking you down not letting you do anything: Malzahar Silence on Q, %Max hp on W, constant DoT on E, SUPPRESSION on R, and those lovable little voidlings from his passive. All hitting you at once if done right.
