nexus blitz aka league of heroes of fortnight

I just played a match of nexus blitz and I have a few things to say about it. First, as an overall opinion, I think it is a fun, fast, more relaxed game mode - as it was intended to be.

Various more detailed thoughts... but lacking any particular order/organization:

  1. Unique aspects range from meh to very fun; however, it could stand to have a few more original ideas in my opinion. The fact that many themes are borrowed from fortnight, overwatch, etc. might attract some of those players who would not be attracted to regular lol, so I guess it can be a good thing too? Payload escort seemed a bit too easy when all towers are still alive; soon as one team dies, you auto-win with little effort. Chasing teemo was great... who doesn't want to punish the little bas... guy.
  2. Spear of shojin is a great item and seems decently balanced as far as stats are; however, I'd bump up the price as its stats are more comparable to death's dance or a similar item when you factor in the passives. Maybe not quite that expensive, but more gold than it currently is.
  3. The map feels a bit crowded for 5v5. Maybe that adds to the hectic gameplay and more fun nature, but I can imagine it being perfectly fine 4v4 too. I guess 5v5 is ok since jg buffs and xp are shared. Otherwise people would probably feel a bit too left out as far as gold and items are concerned.
  4. I'd consider adjusting the range between outer towers so that long ranged champs don't have quite so much safety advantage to leverage early. Being poked say... 3ft from your tower by a xerath who is under his tower is a bit obnoxious.
  5. I like how the events are random. Making it this way means that both a winning and a losing team can benefit... sometimes favoring one or the other more rather than making it something that mostly can only benefit the team that is ahead. Blitz hooks, teemo, etc.
  6. Is it just me or is there one tower that can only be hit by ranged champs? Because I swear the uppermost inner tower on one side was stuck inside of terrain so that I couldn't path to and attack it as a melee. That seems a bit unfair for melee's and graves cuz... terrain blocking his auto's. It wasn't necessary to kill that tower to get to the nexus, but still would be nice to be able to hit it. Maybe I'm just dumb though or it was a bug.
  7. Great game overall. Whatever you do though... do not balance champs or items around this game mode unless they are unique to this mode. I'm sure somebody will complain similar to how aram has issues with people making accounts specifically to play that mode and increase the chance they get the perfect champ for that mode. So like if someone says... make veigar passive stack 4x as fast or nasus q stack faster so he's viable in nexus blitz... either don't bother doing so OR make that chance ONLY for this mode. Same for stuff like roa or tear.

fortnite didnt create the battle royale genre and overwatch didnt create the push the cart mode either

Those are the most popular games currently which use those before lol incorporated it. That's why I mention them. Because... relevance to today's gamers. Most people aren't gonna know some older game from a long time ago that isn't super popular today... so why reference them instead? Not to mention... I'm pretty sure the actual origin is up for debate as far as "push the cart".

the escort mission is something that has been around for a long time but pushing a cart that explodes at its destination was made by valve in tf2 and the other battle royale games arent even old ,tf2 still has a loyal fan base so using those 2 examples dont even make sense
