Is Zed's laning really that oppressive?

I dunno, I just played the Azir vs. Zed matchup which many tout as heavily in the latter's favor as many touted Febiven's solo kills against Faker's Azir as only being due to the matchup.

It really wasn't that bad, I feel like the mana issues people talk about are overplayed. Yes you will go oom if you attempt to match his pushing early but just throw out your waveclear spell once in a while. Also people at low ELO can't CS and the MP you gain back from item 1056 is actually very nice. He got an early lead in CS before first buy (3-4CS) but once I returned with item 3191 item 1004 item 1004 I was able to match his pushing for the most part and start to poke him out when he went to CS. I kept pushing him in and poking him so he never got to all-in. And guess who was more useful in teamfights?

I also feel like Ahri Cassiopeia Annie Diana Xerath Syndra Fizz Lux can smash him in lane if you play well early until you get some armor/MP regen. There are others but none that I've played so I can't say for myself. summoner 21 or summoner 3 is also your friend.

Also word of advice, if you can't lane against him, then learn him. Once you figure out how he wants to WEQ you then it's so much easier to dodge it when playing against him. It's very telegraphed for most Zed players save for maybe Master-Challenger Zed mains.

Not all people prefer to play champs you mentioned, and even those who do still experience problems against Zed. It's been talked in and out how safe Zed is and how he can harass without being punished, making himself the most disgusting AD assassin to lane against. About your situation, ether Zed player was bad or... Yeah,I guess it's the only option here. Should you have met with any decent zed player you would be talking directly controversive of what you've just written in this post.

Zed is oppressive, Azir is just MORE oppressive. Doesn't mean Azir wins, it just means that Zed is going to be pissed until he manages to kill Azir, like everyone else against Teemo.

I'm not sure if an assassin should really have strong waveclear, harass and laning. Not all 3, for sure. Zed can threaten an easy assassination, but at a cost. Not sure on what the cost amounts to, but Azir is quite strong against Zed, mostly because he can farm with his soldier quite effectively and his Emperor's Divide can be timed against Zed's Deathmark.

It's not really that oppressive it's just really lame to play against. Consider someone like Lux or Ziggs. It's like you can barely spare any mana to attack him and have to use most of it just getting all the cs. But seeing that he gets a ridiculous amount of energy, he can keep trying to attack you constantly at almost no cost to him, since he'll just regenerate the energy again. And if you get ganked you could die easily, but you'll find your jungler probably can't really help you much at all. So it's annoying that you essentially can't get very far ahead of him, but he can get way ahead of you.
