Don't let people on my team ban my intended pick

It just makes me less willing to show them what I'd like to play. I'd like to tell my team what I want to go so that we can have a better team comp. but I've gotten trolled too many times.

Sorry, but if your pick intent is Jax DrMundo TahmKench Fiora Graves XinZhao Zed Udyr I will ban it anyway just to make sure the enemy team doesn't get it. And if I can't ban one of those because someone on my team said it was their pick intent I don't even see the interest of playing ranked anymore if your teamate can prevent you from banning op champions.

Unless you're first pick, but that really only happens around 1/10 games.

Sorry, there are times where I wanted to ban my teammates intent picks because:

  • he wanted to play Jhin who was released 2 minutes ago in a Ranked game.
  • troll picking by going Annie ADC.
  • some dumbass who wanted to go other lanes instead of his current lane in NCS, and even when the original guy said no, he would pick a champion meant for the which is not even his.

If you've played 100 games, and 5 games someone has decided to be a dick (not my experience in the slightest btw), I'd say that's an acceptable failure rate. My thoughts are probably that you wanted to pick Jhin/Mundo/Udyr/etc. but your team wasn't FP, so they would rather be safe than sorry.

Yeah but the problem is that it means you're no longer using the feature to help inform your team's picks.

"guys i'm thinking about playing Malphite top maybe someone should play Yasuo mid"

This feature isn't some groundbreaking technology rito just invented, it was just as easy to communicate with your team before. Now you just don't have to type to let your team know what you wanna play. You're asking for riot to waste time and money fixing something that there's already a solution to. I'd much rather have them working on Taric rework and making new skins instead of fixing something that doesn't need to be fixed.

Trolls are always going to troll. If i was a troll and my team couldn't ban my pick, i'm just gonna hover Illaoi and then not pick her. Now the enemy team gets Illaoi and everyone is mad because they couldn't ban her even though they may have wanted to.

Right, and if I type that in chat, I may also get trolled and have him banned by douchebags. Just a few games ago, I showed Brand support intended and the ADC last pick said "please no" and after I said that I play him a lot and will get sightstone eventually, he still banned it.

But that's not my point. My point is that you've always been able to communicate what you want to pick to your team and you've always been able to get your champion banned for doing so. If you don't want your Brand support banned, don't tell anyone you're gonna pick it.
