CORKI E AP RATIO

It does half physical and half magic with a 10% AD ratio. I think it should have a 10% AP ratio too. It's Corki's only ability without an AP ratio.

It would improve build diversity a little but AP would remain suboptimal overall. If Nocturne gets an AP scaling on his passive, why not 10% on Corki's E?

ForgivenSoul1 votes

Noc's AP is on his E Unspeakable Horror. And that was most likely for Triforce ~~ya know back when Tri gave AP ~~

SirLime9 votes

They added a 15% AP ratio on his passive in 6.10.

ForgivenSoul1 votes

huh... i didn't know that. it wasn't on the LoL Wiki under his abilities, just gave the base healing. but it was under his balance notes portion.

Sanctimonious1 votes

It was for rageblade.

It was for rageblade. They said that while he might not want to build rageblade, this would allow him to be a teeny bit stronger if he so chooses to build it

That was also in the time that blue buff gave flat AP and most junglers would get 30~ AP they can do nothing with.

Supreme Senpai691 votes

I don't think that would affect Noc's balance even remotely though. After all, most Nocturne's should be giving blue to their mid laners

Nocturne's passive has an ap scaling on the heal as well.

Corki's ration on his E is 10% bonus AD buuuut because it's a damage over time effect that actually goes up to a total of 160% so if you gave him 10% AP too he'd also have 160% total in AP as well and you build gunblade on him now so it might over tune him. I don't think it will but it might, corki is really hard to buff cause of how strong his kit is overall but he is the best Hybrid champion balance wise.

While people shouldn't stay in his full E duration anyway, that would be a ridiculous ratio if it's how it works. It merits some AP ratio but perhaps only 1% in that case.

I'm not really sure how practical 160% total AP would be to use since E has a 16 sec. CD and they'd have to sit in it for 4 seconds. I think it actually sounds scarier than it really is. Still, I'd rather make sure it's a low enough ratio that it doesn't have the potential to be a problem.

Zerenza1 votes

When i play corki i usually find it pretty easy to keep it on someone for atleast 3 seconds, 4 is about the time they realize their fucked XD And even then in a teamfight it's easy to keep people in it for 4 full seconds.

I think 5% would be fine. 1% would be a total of 16% which is pretty darn weak. 5% gives a total of 80% which is not only a fairly reasonable scaling for many abilities, but is a much nicer looking number.

Honestly I think 60% would be the optimal overall ratio, but that's a kind off ratio to have displayed (3.75%).

I disagree. He does hybrid damage but he's not a champion you build as a hybrid. His AD ratios are far better than his AP ratios and he's one of the few champions who gets tons of magic damage without building any AP. I think he's in a good spot right now but the next time he gets too strong or too weak, instead of nerfing/buffing they should fix him to actually have real hybrid ratios. a 5% AP ratio would be 80% AP for one of the riskiest abilities in the entire game so I think it's fair.

Zerenza1 votes

Yeah i mean to be fair though i kind of want more Hybrid champs in the future to be like Corki, overall i think he's a good base line for hybrids cause he still does both types of damage but he doesn't have that thing where he can literally build anything and it works perfectly like Jax. Like i want more abilities to actually say "Oh hey this does half/half damage or this ability does mixed damage."

Gosh Darn2 votes

Yeah I love that about Corki, I think he's perfect besides his ratios. Being able to stack nothing but AD and do far more magic damage than physical damage is just odd, but if he had more practical AP ratios I think the half/half damage on his AAs and E is very cool.

At also shreds Armor and MR and instantly procs Thunderlord's Decree...

Corki doesn't really need buffs right now, but if he ever does this would be fun.

I think they should increase regular R AP ratio because they gutted it's base damage and TF lost its AP stat. the ap magic pen corki was basically gutted since of his rework, and it would be cool to have it back

That hasn't been my recent experience.

Apologies for pixels at the end, something happened when I was combining the clips and I haven't figured out how to make it work yet.

That wasn't your R as much as it was being massively ahead in both levels and items.

Indeed I was ahead. I don't pretend otherwise; that's why I (almost) always include the scoreboard.

That said, in my recent experience, my R damage is pretty high once I get sorc and liandrylai, even if I'm not fed.

I can get some clips of chunking people in a recent aram, when the gold and levels are much more even.

why tho? he is not underpowered

Make AP corki a tad more viable, that is all... It really only affects build diversity and is not a buff to AD corki, which is what he usually is built as.

TeCoolMage1 votes

actually it buffs AD corki as AD corki builds void staff and hextech gunblade.

Schoenberg1 votes

Ah.

TeCoolMage1 votes

despite the slightly below ratios, MPen and spellvamp are really actually valuable

SirPurrr1 votes

Corki's already a hybrid champion. His Q has a 50% AP and 50% AD ratio. The E always seemed like an odd duck with only a 10% AD ratio.

This kind of buff would have almost no practical significance since TF no longer has AP and the only AP items he really builds are GB and sometimes Void. However, it would certainly make it seem more consistent with his kit.

Yordle Xayah1 votes

You do that he becomes hyper broken. There's a reason they've barely touched the guy despite him struggling all year... like Tristana

I hated the ADC "update" from preseason last year

SirLime3 votes

10% AP on E would do nothing except make AP off builds more viable. When he was strong, it certainly wasn't because of his abilities' AP scaling. It was due to having 1.1 AD scaling on autos with half magic and half physical. This made crit builds with Essence Reaver (back when TF had 20% crit. ) extremely effective vs non-tanks. I also think he was overrated and his actual competitive winrate didn't match people's perception of him. They looked at him laning well and bursting a lot of champions but didn't realize how relevant the lack of CC becomes later on.

Corki's got a decent winrate now (51% mid and ADC) but he's not close to being broken by any means. He's just OK and still suffers from a huge late game fall-off. Few play him and they mostly know what they're doing while their opponents probably forgot how Corki works. Moreover, Corki beats a lot of the reworked assassins, especially pre-6 so the meta fits him. Having a gap closer and being ranged is always hard for assassins. If he were OP, you'd see him back at 10%+ playrate instead of 3%.

TeCoolMage1 votes

actually he's doing fairly well

Did you know that every damage proc that is physical on corki's e counts towards black cleaver? Idk what this would mean in terms of corki builds but I do think that this is interesting.

Gorgiolio1 votes

I'm not really sure if corki's E is really intended to be a full on damaging ability. I think it's more intended for it's other passive ability resistance shredding. Sorta like a darius E.
