crit is unhealthy to the game

I just don't like how much impact an RNG can have in what's meant to be a skill based game, they removed dodge so why not change this? this isn't a NERF GRRR SALTx1000, I just really think something like this should decide if people die / not die...

Edit: RNG: Random number generator, meaning chance...

Edit2: If I were to suggest a replacement I'd say for it to be you get extra damage every 10th auto at like 10% and for 50% 5 and 100 every attack

certainly is, but the uneducated masses won´t understand RNG anyway so you get downvoted and Riot won´t change a thing as they are very afraid of the backlash.

Out of all the things you can complain about you complain about crit. Somebody has been getting rekt by crit.

Crit is more or less a staple in many games. It's there to reward you when you get lucky. While luck should not be the deciding factor, luck is incorporated into games to add a bit of twist. Otherwise the game would be stale as fuck.

I don't believe crit belongs in a competitive game. Especially not League.

Eh, maybe not. That was my two cents. The only time I've ever had trouble with crit was going against Yasuo. My luck is real shit.

Then you realize you can get 100% crit... I don't mean to say WAAA CRIT OP or whatever I just don't believe it's healthy to what's meant to to be a skill based game, they removed dodge stat so eh... idk... just my opinion

100% crit is the exact opposite of RNG, which is what I thought you were complaining about, you know exactly what's going to happen every time.

TF2 disables crits for competetive play.

Crit is a product of balance decisions when AD itemization was low and HP itemization was high; at the time of its inception crit was required to deal with "of their time" juggernaughts like Mundo and amumu who, by virtue of itemization, had very high HP, and at the time very high damage. AD itemization has changed over time and tank itemization has gotten less out of hand; Crit is a mechanic that no longer has a place in league and would better serve as flat physical damage amplification. 100% crit would, realistictly, equal 200% physical damage amplification (250 with IE - making IE one of the best AD items to buy period).

Changing crit to a flat damage amp would also let other champions build it without feeling like theyve wasted gold, and allow for new items to be created that combine defensive stats and damage amplification.

Didn't Ashe have this before the nerfs? The more crit she built, the more damage she did to slowed enemies?

... Reworked ashe did and still does. Reworked ashe is the only champion designed with crit, if i remember correctly.

This unholy combination of RNG deciding bot-lane and bot-lane deciding the outcome of the game. THAT'S stale imo.

Crit as a mechanic has it's place, and because of the way it works, it reinforces an ADC's late-game scaling heavily. Riot doesn't really like it either, but there's no really good ideas to replace it with at the moment

There have been several ideas that were thought through, one of them being a consistent "added damage" sort of bonus that produced the same average levels of DPS as current crit based builds. Riot's been really stubborn about keeping in something they purportedly want out, and it's not for want of new or interesting ideas, or other ways to maintain current levels.

there tons of ideas since forever, Riot is just too afraid of the backlash from those "randomly criting makes the game sooo great, while skillfull outplays are boring and stale"-guys.

There is an algorithm in place to 'smooth out' crits so they occur in pretty regular intervals instead of having lucky/unlucky strings. If you actually look at some sequences of crits vs. noncrits you'll realize it's almost impossible for RNG to have a significant impact in a sustained fight due to crits.

Why would this get negvoted when it's simple fact? There is a documented algorithm in the game that can be demonstrated easily by going into a custom game and buying a crit item. I've done it myself with a Garen and you find that long strings of crits or non crits outside of what should happen on average are very, very rare.
