It's cool to see how many people agree with a post, but what about the people who don't? It makes me curious to be honest, same goes for downvoted posts but vice versa.

How about we get rid of the upvote system all together so actual discussions can take place here. It currently to easy to farm upvotes by talking about a hand full of topics over and over.
I wanted to upvote this but couldn't because it was at 74 upvotes..
The reason why is because most downvotes have become "I disagree" rather than the intended purpose of "Does not contribute to a discussion." Downvoting was not intended to be used as it is universally now and it's worse as a result of lurkers not even contributing to the threads.
Everyone would just get mad cause every thread gets a few downvotes in the first minutes for whatever reason :P trust me

I mean...I don't see a difference either way. Seeing just upvotes works for me. I guess if you could see the downvotes, not as many peeps would go to that discussion so that could be a plus. But I don't think there would be a particularly big impact either way.

Yeah, I would prefer this. I've always wanted to know if some of these really dumb threads are actually popular opinions or just have a lot of upvotes and a lot of downvotes.
They're not currently developing any new features for the boards. The team that would do it is working on the new client.

Actually, the karma system is supposed to be used to indicate posts that contribute to the discussion and are not off-topic or spam. It is not supposed to be an opinion ballot. But good luck convincing anyone of that
