Smite for Everyone . . .

Team A takes:

Smite/TP Smite/Ignite Smite/TP Smite/Heal Smite/Exhaust

Team B takes: Flash/TP Flash/Ignite Smite/TP Flash/Heal Flash/Exhaust

What happens: Team A offensively smites Team B's entire jungle early game, taking the survival buffs, thus completely hosing Team B's jungler. In addition, they get some really sweet buffs. When Team A gets sufficient gold, they buy the offensive jungle items (Smite target deals 20% less damage to you, etc) and upgrades (80 AP, 20% CDR).

So now you have team A that gets almost every single jungle buff in the game, can steamroll baron/dragon, and deals massive true damage and reduces the damage of the enemy team by 20%.

Team B can run away every 5 minutes.

This is going to be a thing. Mark my words.

It already is a thing

As Lumus said it was already a thing long before now. I've played against many teams that go 5 man smite. Instant pushes, dragon steals, baron steals. It's only given a bonus now.

The new items and jungle buffs make it such a bigger deal, though. Now, if you have smite, you get access to buffs as well as the new items that add true damage and damage reduction or slows. It's not even remotely similar to the old "5 smite" comps because they were giving up laning presence to pressure jungle objectives. Now, getting smite is pretty much only a bonus.

It used to be a gimmick comp. I believe, though, that 5-man smite teams will become standard unless changes are made.

Until team B realized that they have a massive advantage because team A has no early power from items/summs and proceeds to rick roll them.

Except that Team B has things like "every 5th attack stuns" and putting a DOT on anything that damages you. And it is less than 800 gold to get the smite active vs players, so easy first back that + boots/other item.

Except the moment Team B realized what they are doing, Team A is going to get jumped in the jungle, Team A has less combat stats and loses a lvl 1 team fight, Team B starts with a gold and Exp lead, proceeds to ward up and stomp Team A at every turn because they wasted their time on a gimmick.

Do you think Team A has to actually kill the jungle mobs?

All they have to do is smite it before the Team B jungler gets to the spawn

It is literally "walk in, smite, walk out"

And really it's only going to be useful if you take Gromp. And there are only two per map and one buff available per spawn.

The stun every five hits, only usable on minions and monsters, though it will grant you one shot of true damage against a turret. The raptors let you clear a ward, but red trinket does the same and wolf camp gives you vision of an area, decent but hardly worth losing a summoner spell.

Really this just sounds like a strategy to tick off the enemy jungler.

I can see Devouring Skirmisher Wit's TanKoggy being absolutely hilarious.

His early game will be ass, but Kog's early game is always ass, so that's nothing new.

Honnestly the game entirely depends who has the worst jungler right now. I have seen all lanes go 5/0 where the game just get lost because they jungler is never arround to secure dragon.
