Why don't junglers gank top?

Keyoshi··4 votes·3,483 views

Seriously why aren't junglers ganking top anymore. It's still a lane that needs to be pressured. The lane can snowball just like any other lane. The fact that people are saying "its top lane thats how it is" Is seriously the dumbest thing i've ever heard people say. Do us a favor and gank your top lane you junglers.

I agreed. I played top lane today. Six fucking games with Nasus. But none of my jangler give me a gank. Rather from my last game, evelynn who was a jungler, called me noob. She said that Im bad because i cant play without ganks. It's her duty to gank every lane as a jungler. Pant was fed, I couldn't deal with him. But she still didn't come to help me. Rather she reported me when I didn't say a word.

Typically, they don't want to lose dragon if it's up. If they show up top side, that's a free dragon for the enemy team.

The top laner is typically a tank which means that many of them have the durability to walk away from a gank. Champions in mid and bot are typically far squishier.

Top is very snowbally, so some champions can easily turn a gank into a double kill for them. Ganking a Rumble or Riven when they have their ultimate can be a risky affair, especially when they are fed.

Because dragon. Also I'd rather get a double kill bot.

See, I usually camp either top or mid when I jungle, just because solo lanes are easier to gank than duo lanes.

Most people hover in the bot side of the map because mid and ADC tend to be your 2 main damage dealers, and because dragon is there, so successful ganks lead directly to dragon buffs. Also, top lane is generally where the tankiest (aka hardest to gank) champions make their homes, so you have to use more resources to secure the kill most of the time.

As a top lane main, though, all I ever really want is one early game gank. If it goes well, then I'm ahead and I'll try to snowball, and if we don't get anything, I'll just leave my jungler to focus other lanes.

"A lane that can snowball just like any other lane."

Ha, good one.

Dragon control is just to important. I can either spend my time and effor on people that will be more likely to help me (the people around the dragon) or hope that a top lanner TP is off cool down.

Also i am less likely to go top with a someone with smite is there. Odds are they are poaching the jungle making it less efficient for me to go up there. Even if you are not taking smite i am developing patterns from those that do.

Winning alot of my ranked games lately with even or fewer dragon buffs then the enemy. I fail to see the validity of the 'OMG DRAGON BUFF' argument comes in. Because in practice the dragon buff is not an over bearing factor to use it as an all end excuse to ignore another part of the map and team. So while you gank mid and bot the enemy Riven gets fed and when she tp's and start getting triple kills you blame the top laner.

Well funny thing is it doesn't appear those dragon buffs you secured are helping you stop Riven from face training you. And everyone's so angry at Rumble for "feeding" When Lee came top twice and got Riven ahead while Rumble had less then 1 gank.

It's a senario I've seen on my team and the enemy team too many times. I've been in games where my jungler ganks for me early as Top Darius and I just avalanche on with caution into a completely unstoppable demoralizing force that results in more enemy surrenders then nexus earned victories.

Dragon is important, but don't spend every game with the same tunnel vision mind set. Just as we should be able to itemize properly per opponents in our game and not just BUILD THE SAME THING every game, the jungler has to access their priorities differently for every game.

lol GL snowballing as Riven in anything other than silver/bronze/gold, because a plat mid, support, ADC or jungler can wreck Riven. Also, most higher level top laners know to stop feeding Riven kills and just leave lane; seen it happen against my team many times. Top loses 1v0, rest of map loses 5v4 then the fed jungler, mid and top all collapse back on you later on.

Tell that to Faker.

And you have Cowsep who is D1 master yi main in Korea, does this mean master yi is amazing and not actually an underpowered trash champ? Faker moved on to LB too.

Oh sorry I forgot Riot removed Bronze, Silver, and Gold tiers

Game should not be balanced around low elos like you and me, because if we only got better, we would be able to counter them. Otherwise, why stop at balancing for gold? Why not balance for bronze 5 and nerf Teemo while buffing Zed and Lee Sin?

I'm trying to keep the scope of my opinions in this thread to what the OP is speaking about. I think alot of disagreements and unecissary fighting happens when that occurs. If what the OP posts about doesn't apply to your Elo or Tier, why are you commenting here?

And last I understand what is being spoken , it's got nothing to do with the game but the choices and decisions players are making. You're literally talking about something completely unrelated, and using what you're saying as your "evidence/proof" that your opinion is superior to mine.

We're playing pool and you're throwing footballs. FEWTBAWLS.

You people revolve your whole jungling around dragon, thats terrible.

Reliably getting dragon is important. It's about denying the advantage to your opponent. Mid and bottom lane also both have more reward for the risk, such as more roaming potential, objectives, and more kills (i.e. more people snowballing).

However, anytime before level six is a perfect time to gank top. I usually gank it at least once, if not twice before level six. Anytime dragon's down is also a great time to gank top, and you can easily take it at anytime post level 3 on a majority of junglers.

because people on board always think they have to play like the lcs and ignore top

Durzaka1 votes

I don't ignore top when i jungle, but unless it is an incredibly snowballing champion (something like Riven or the like) i tend to give it let attention that the other 2 lanes.

The thing is, bot has 2 champions i could snowball, a huge source of damage AND a source of CC, making plays is just easier there depending on ward coverage.

Mid lane is the easiest overall to gank (depending on your jungler i suppose) and snowballing your mid lane means they can keep their lane pushed hard and roam top or bot as well.

This is completely ignoring dragon control which still matters.

The reward for ganking top is just lower than mid or bot most of the time.

Most top laners have more health now cuz cinderhulk. Tanky champions are harder to burst down, so it's harder to get a kill top than mid or bot. If you're not getting kills then you're just wasting your time.

straight4free1 votes

Well honestly because it is out of the way. Baron isn't really an objective worth caring about and it is pretty obvious if you have wards when they are going to do it, so it's better to spend more time around the bottom of the map.
