Seriously why not? I mean i worked for that ip i have nothing to spend it on, why cant i help my friends get new champions they want to try out? I have all this ip built up but nothing to spend it on and i'd really love to help my friends with champions.

Bergk1 votesRiot got rid of that rule. But even if they were to put it in place for IP gifting, the result would be the same, but the third party sellers would say "please allow 2 weeks for delivery" :( If there is a way to exploit a game to make money, people do it.

Tehlawlfirm1 votesat level 30 they have like 32,000 ip so I would say that's also IP farming. I know people who have used bots for farming ip over night so they could get champions. It's not uncommon.

SecretAgentHulk1 votesI've done it a couple of times, I'll be the first to admit, but the majority of my purchases have been skins I want because I love and own the champs they're for. Except for Bard (I still regret this), Lucian with the recent PROJECT skin is the only one I've ever bought (need that special border, yo) and I would kinda suspect it's the same more broadly—Riot makes money, but not nearly so much as skins.

We don't need bots that afk to get IP to sell it.
There should be a minimum of owned IP to gift like 30k owned then you can gift.
My main in KR has like 300k IP i'd love to gift it but a soft cap of owned IP is needed. And how old the account gifting IP is as well needs to be old.
Like 2 years+ or something very long.

A friend of mine knows I'm very careful with what champs I buy because I'm a huge fan of mystery skins. So of course, he gifted me two champions which I hate and can't play for the life of me 
. Now I proudly own all of their skins (Yes, even Lollipoppy and Union Jack) and still hate them and can't play them for the life of me, so there's that.

Remember the Poro's as champion's? I think it would be really cool if they made icon's out of all of them and you could buy them with ip. Would be something else you could buy..

If you were allowed to spend that stuff you earned playing their game on buying your friend a champion they'll probably want a skin for, they'd definitely lose money because your friend totally wouldn't have just worked to get IP for the champ before buying a skin anyway.
Honestly, having to play 20+ hours makes getting a champion feel worth it.
Having the champion alone feel worth the work makes getting a skin seem less necessary.
