Seriously why not? I mean i worked for that ip i have nothing to spend it on, why cant i help my friends get new champions they want to try out? I have all this ip built up but nothing to spend it on and i'd really love to help my friends with champions.
Its because then there would be IP farming bots all over the rift. These bots would be created by websites that use IP to sell champions to players for like 1 dollar. This is why we can't have nice things!

If this happens, the possibility of selling your IP will take place and this game will be filled with bots.
because riot already has enough hackers trying to drop hack and script and bug abuse in diamond/plat as is already.
We don't need bots that afk to get IP to sell it.
There should be a minimum of owned IP to gift like 30k owned then you can gift.
My main in KR has like 300k IP i'd love to gift it but a soft cap of owned IP is needed. And how old the account gifting IP is as well needs to be old.
Like 2 years+ or something very long.

Such a stupid idea. This just makes the smurfing problem even worse since they will all have their mains to play.
Because you can easily gift your smurfs champions they'd never get at level one without buying RP.
Who the hell buys champions with RP, anyway? I've always had like 40k+ IP, right now I'm sitting at 70k IP. I'm absolutely baffled that people actually pay like 5-10 dollars per champion when they can earn them REALLY easily for free.

I think this would only be able to work if only profiles with 95%+ of the champions unlocked could do it.
It'd devalue RP by a lot. Also the obligatory IP botting that's bound to happen.
Well you see, friend who has bought everything possible with IP and now has 50000 laying around, Riot is greedy.
If you were allowed to spend that stuff you earned playing their game on buying your friend a champion they'll probably want a skin for, they'd definitely lose money because your friend totally wouldn't have just worked to get IP for the champ before buying a skin anyway.
Honestly, having to play 20+ hours makes getting a champion feel worth it.
Having the champion alone feel worth the work makes getting a skin seem less necessary.
because someone in diamond, who is a god yasuo player would make a smurf, gift yasuo and then wreck ton of people
well riot wouldn't want you to do that because it would mean they would make less money, and you know how they like their money.
Exactly what i'm saying i've got nearly 60k IP, all the runes, all the rune pages, all the champions, wtf can I do with it, im losing interest as I cannot spend it on anything, one of my motives for playing the game was to "buy every champ", I was already pretty bored of it, and that motive kept me going, now I need a new one, at least if I could help friends out, or spend IP on other things it would be more motivational.
