Why is it that if you build armor vs Yasuo, it doesn't help?

This isn't a rant I am actually needing someone to answer this question.

I genuinely have no idea why this is.

Someone please answer this.

I have played several champions, Garen, Illaoi, Darius, Yorick vs Yasuo and stacked armor (including randuin's) and it still never matters. I'm not saying he's broken, but... Armor counters AD and yet it still feels like I've built full damage glass cannon every time I lane against him... >.>

If I'm doing something wrong, someone tell me what it is cause I'm at my Wit's End.

If you can't beat Yasuo as Darius, either the Yasuo is ArKaDaTa, or you're doing something wrong.

Oh by the way his E does magic dmg.

Well obviously, I'm doing something wrong, but that's not really helping me since I already stated that.

Initiate trades with your Q. This will force yasuo to back off or dash into you to escape outer Q. Start following up with auto W auto and another Q when you get the chance. Most yasuos will realize that theyre too squishy to deal with darius. Apprehend yasuo when he tries to dash away and keep on him.

Honestly this dmg is pretty negligible. Not saying that it does no dmg, but that he can only do it one time on you. And even if he stacks the dmg all the way up, it's still negligible if you have any MR, which you should if you are building tank. If you really are worried about it so much then get item 3065 .

That's what bugs me with gnar. Gnar's primary damage is magic damage through his W passive, which when combined with Frozen Mallet or Black Cleaver and Fervor, its annoying hybrid damage on a very mobile fighter than can suddenly become a tank mid-fight.

Not saying he's broken, but definitely annoying to build against. Build armor, you get poked. Build MR, you get out-tanked.

Well Yasuo does not do hybrid dmg. A small portion of the dmg he deals is magic but not enough to call hybrid.

You know we were talking about Yasuo, right?

While the primary topic was about yasuo, the subtopic was about Yasuo dealing magic damage with his E and building a spirit visage (even if the damage is low anyway). So i brought up how itemization against gnar is a pain due to having to figure out what to build depending on how the opponent is playing.

Not really, it now only applies to crit strikes to it is not guaranteed until mid game. It is meant to allow him to have armor pen while in a team fight. If you think about it, a Samurai was able to pinpoint the weaknesses of anyone's armor that they fought. So i like the thematics of it.

Yeah Lol. I've seen a Yas go Jg with item 1419 item 3153 item 3046 item 3031 item 3006 and item 3026 . Holy shit was that scary. He got so fed off of the Full tank top and jg that he could one shot the adc.

The thematics are nice, but watching a fed full armour malphite die in 5 seconds to a single Yasuo who isn't even fed is quite sad, especially since his burst against squishies really isn't lower than that of most assassins either.

Taking a quick look at your last game, you just fed him early and kept feeding him.

Also, you generally shouldn't rush Randuin's Omen as your very first item. Sunfire Cape is generally a better early purchase since it provides additional damage and waveclear (lessing you fight against opponents in extended trades rather easily).

If you are a full item behind your opponent, then they are going to kill you even through your defensive item. Also, Yasuo's ultimate provides bonus armor penetration which didn't help matters.

I would build Health with armor so that you don't completely rely on armor to fight him as he cancels 50% of it with his ult. item 3143 cuts crits a bit so build that definitely. I go Malphite against him and usually build item 3068 item 3025 and it screws with him so hard as you can use your Q to proc his shield.

You do know that with Yas's passive he achieves full crit with 2 items. Even with stacking armor (including Randuin's) He is hitting you 100% with critical strikes. If he gets his ult off he gets a bigger bonus that ignores 50% of your armor (only on crits since the newest patch) so unless he has not reached 100% crit, your armor may help. Yes it sucks as ive seen full tanks like Nautilus get sliced up like butter, but the best thing you can do is keep him immobile and know when to engage.

because it does help and you probably just kept feeding your ass off so that even despite you getting more armor he's getting more damage. also his ultimate ignores 50% bonus armor

Because his ult gives armor pen. Plus crit strikes do double damage (minus what his passive does), so you need to build a lot more armor than usual for the same effective against most fighters.

the thing is. armor. is really good. early and mid game. well not early game. i think hp is better in the absolutely early game with some armor. armor shiens mid game. late game. infinity edge. and crit. really. outscales armor too far. and you can't be tanky enough. my point is if you are against yasuo. grab randuins. ninja tabi. and 4 damage items. kill him before he kills you. because as a tank u wont kill him if he buys a bloodthirster. he heals far too much. grab a mortal reminder too.
