A Question On How Riot is Buffing Shen.
Quite recently I have been maining Shen in both the top lane, and jungle. But ever since they nerfed his Q, his damage has been greatly reduced to practically nothing. I know that Shen is meant to be a pure tank that has good CC but I feel that being forced to build tank every single game is just not healthy. I mean he is a ninja, he has to have some kind of killing power, right? His Q mechanic is great against tanks and certain bruisers but against carry top laners is absolute garbage due to having only enemy max health scaling. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Shen can't win against these champs, but what needs to be done about Shen is to give the player more options. Building tank is great for the late game but it takes a while for the player to get those items. Shen should have a secondary role of being an AP bruiser, like Rumble
or Cho'Gath
. These champions can be fairly tanky while providing a bit of damage. I feel that Shen fits the description of being a bruiser type champion and not just a full tank. It would also make sense thematically as Akali
and Kennen
both share AP as they're main damage output. Quite frankly, an AP bruiser sounds more fun than just full tank if we are being honest with ourselves. I don't think Shen's early game health is bad because most top lane Shens just get Grasp of the Undying to compensate. Instead of buffing Shen's early health, perhaps add some better AP scaling on his Q.(Come on 1.5% AP is absolutely garbage.) I don't see why AP Shen would be overpowered, after all he is sacrificing tankiness with damage output. Plus his only way to really deal damage to people(besides his e) is to autoattack with empowered Q.
TL;DR Shen needs have the secondary role of being an AP bruiser so that he is not as one-dimensional as simply dashing into a group of enemies and hope for the best.
