This would finally make zhonyas the useful item it was meant to be. Right now, zhonyas is almost useless in higher elo (and low elo too if the enemy as half a brain cell) because the enemy will always know when it's effect is going to end, making it easy to kill the person. Giving us the feature to cancel it can either catch the enemy off guard, or just give us the curtesy of being able to make use of the item the way we want.
Rewt1 votesthe timing is the counterplay to zhonyas. Its an instant invulnerability that can be used to avoid burst. The downside of it is that if your team isnt around you come out of zhonyas a sitting duck.
Avarist1 votesZhonya's is far from useless in any elo. Challenger players buy it all the time.
If a teamfight has broken out and you're in the thick of things, that zhonya can give you time for your team to kill whoever is on you, for the enemy to change targets (thus reducing their burst because they expended damage sources on other people) or it simply gives you a period of time where someone on the enemy team is standing about doing nothing constructive. - Those are powerful results from an item with great stats too.
You can also use it to deny a lot of characters ultimates / dodge critical skillshots in the 1v1 scenario, and so on so forth.
Example - 1v1'ing an Ahri, if you zhonya's her as she fires spirit orb at you, your gonna get charmed. If you use it to dodge her charm however, suddenly you are in a much better position.
Example 2 - Zed ult.
I'm sure you already know all of that, but still, i'm just saying that while zhonya's has counterplay (which it rightly should), it is by no means a useless purchase.
