Any 1 role ponies here?
I'm what most people would consider a 1 role pony.
Any other 1 role ponies here? What champs do you play?
Do you think it's better to be a 1 champ pony, a 1 role pony or someone who plays all champs and roles?

I'm in the awkward position of being a support main who always fills, so 90% of my games are as support. As a result of that I'm pretty inexperienced in solo lanes but get put against solo lane mains and junk all the time when I get top or mid. End result isn't pretty :P
Same on the support main, if I get support I can do really well, but I just pray I don't get my secondary in promos or something. :P My backup is jungle so I figure if I do get it I'll just play junglers like
or
which just require me to hit R in a team fight to be a positively contributing member of my team. :P

Whichever you enjoy more is better.
Well I've never really played anything extensively that wasn't a tank (besides Jhin, bless Riot I love that champion), but I also tend to focus on only one champ in ranked, and that's Sion
Oh wait, scratch that, I was a morde main for 2 and a half seasons before he was changed into a bot laner
Honestly, I know a lot of one-trick ponies, I learned from a diamond Shaco one trick, but he is still competent at every role. That would be my advice; don't completely commit to a single role or champion.
It must be said that there is a benefit to mastering a single champion, because in well-practiced hands, less mistakes and more plays happen. Just don't be completely helpless when you don't get your role/champion.
When I first played League, I only played mages and marksman. Now I play all the roles and bunch of different champions :)
I'm a every role pony sadly, I used to play just top Pantheon, but when I got more experienced and learned the dangers of playing him late game, I went searching for better champ choices. I usually go mid tho, so I have a lot of mid laners. Being a multiple champ and role player is your best bet, that way you can go different roles and have multiple champs to rely on if they ban others
I don't think a one-trick is ever the right answer because the inevitability of matching team comps poorly, not getting your role, or getting matched against a hard counter are too high. I think 2 roles with at least a couple different choices for said roles is best.
Really, I think my opinion is driven by the fact that the monotony of grinding a single champ would bore me to death. That, and I hate it when the one-trick Yasuo's lock into a kite comp or a team with no knock-ups. That's not cool.
