Wait wait wait, Rakan...

Rakan's W (maxable by level 9): CD 12 seconds Damage 230+0,5*AP Knocks enemies up for 1 second

Malphite ultimate (maxable by level 18): CD 100 seconds Damage 400+1*AP Knocks enemies up for 1,5 seconds

So Rakan gets a slightly weaker version of Malphite's ultimate for 1/10th of the cooldown. As a basic skill.

Am I the only one who sees a problem in this?

EDIT: I'm well aware that other champions have a knock-up, thank you all. What I'm concerned about is Malphite becoming too weak in comparison as time marches on...

Rakan's W has a delay before the knock-up plus a longer travel time.

Malphite just zips at ludicrous speed to the targeted spot and instantly bops everybody.

Also, Aatrox had a "slightly weaker version of Malphite's ult" before Rakan.

"Alistar q w combo knocks people up to for around a second! Must be a malphite ult"

Pulverize at max rank: 240 Magic Damage (+50% AP) 13 second cooldown

Headbutt at max rank: 275 Magic Damage (70% AP) 10 second cooldown

Combined total: 515 Magic Damage (+120% AP)

This is significantly higher than both Rakan and Malphite's ultimate damage. The main difference here is Alistar is able to be Silenced/CC'd during his Headbutt, preventing the Pulverize from going through. Think Fiddlesticks - if he E's while Alistar is mid-air, Alistar simply Headbutts the target away while putting himself in a very poor position, likely using his own Ultimate for retreating rather than advancing forward. Malphite is "Unstoppable" during his Ultimate, in a similar fashion to Hecarim. It's also much less predictable and almost requires the enemy to have their Flash up (and a very fast reaction time) to avoid it - this is why Malphite's Ultimate is on a much longer cooldown and deals less damage than many other champions.

Good point, Malph's is much harder to avoid, that's true.

Yeah, you are, Rakan's knock up is easy to dodge since it's not instantaneous, Malphite's ult can't be dodged. This may not look like much but that's a big difference, if you can't guarantee a knock up then it's not a completely reliable CC, it requires some skill.

Zac also has a slight knockup, Alistar does, several others too.

Whats your point? Every single one of them is different.

I don't see a problem at all, I've played Rakan and against him and he doesn't seem to bad compared to most champions.

Riot hit the right spot I'd say, I'm impressed.

Malphite's ult is flashable; its completely dodgeable as well. Its just harder to dodge than Rakan's knock up. Though I feel like they could make the delay on it longer. :/ Its got a big radius and can actually be pretty hard to get out of.

I've entered your post into the running for "Biggest understatement of the year 2017," It's still pretty early in the awards season but I'm very optimistic about your performance.
