I didn't even know this lol. Why would an AOE spell that ignores armor be able to do crit dmg? Riot should've removed that instead of nerfing Gangplank into the ground.

I look at it this way, the crits with IE are basically the same as Jhin 4th bullet, except with GP, he has to aim and percisely place the barrels, and successfully execute the barrel to explode unlike just counting to 4 and auto attacking.

Its suspose to be reward for skillfully placing and using them rather than giving free gold or nasus stacks. The barrel's are barely GP's problem, its mostly just power in his ulti, W free QSS, and Q poke for easy farming.

I would understand if the barrels only did splash crit dmg, but they offer far too much of a reward for using them. in my opinion, the ignoring armor, slow, and bonus physical dmg to champions (which funnily enough I also just find out in the LOL wiki) is enough reward for successfully exploding them

Base damage on Q, barrels, and sheen can't crit. Only bonus AD damage can.
