You also have to factor in that it was played against a ryze mid, who has been pretty gutted w/ how long his E CD is now (because "too strong in pro play lol") whose basically just picked for the ult/comfort pick.

I think the malz pick would've had a lot more trouble if it had been played into something like a syndra for example, because ryze is outstandingly weak right now.

Wow. Is this guy really serious. Malzahar is not picked because of 2 reasons:

  1. His Ultimate is negated by QSS.
  2. He is nerfed to the balls.

Of course his pick rate is 2%. Honestly its amazing he is even picked at all.

And then you look at popularity rate of 1.7%.

Lul.

hm so? if he has 51.5% win rate, and is played mid in competition i can't see anything but a viable pick

and yet board goes on about how malz mid is no longer playable what a joke

Low popularity means played only by mains which means inflated winrate.

Malz isn't played mid. If he was it was probably for 1 game.

Even looking in the LCS, he has a 2% pickrate mid and a 50% win rate.

Do you even play Malz? Because if you did, you would realize he is very underpar in the Mid lane.

Is a champion bad because they aren't picked in the pro scene?

I fail to see the logic.

Ok let look at some of these victories.

Fed Draven

Split push 10/0 Tryndamere

Oh...an AFK on enemy team

Mmmm...wonder if any of these games were won because of Malzahar and not his team?

Compared to the 53-55% winrate and 4-5% playrate for pre-rework Malzahar?

If he is not picked in the pro scene it is common sense that he is not strong enough to win.
The simple fact is, that Malz was not being picked PRIOR to the Nerf, and now the chances of him getting picked are even lower.

But its not just the pro scene. Diamond and Plat players who used to main Malz no longer see him as viable.
