I'm Desperate - Hence This Post

I've been trying to figure things out on my own, from what I hear on the interwebs, trying to avoid having to write this because I can already anticipate the flame.

I've been playing this game on and off for years. And I have never been out of Bronze. I primarily play support. I try changing roles to top but I always gravitate back to support. Sometimes as support I play what I want to play, while other times I play what wins even though I don't want to play them. Tank engages are what I am best at, and I am trying to get better with the mages, like Lulu and Nami. Top I usually win lane. The problem is I don't know how to translate the winning lane into a complete game carry. I've never forced myself to learn that role, simply because I always go back to support. It's how I think.

What I hate about support is there are countless games where there is nothing you can do. You can't help bad positioning. I can Lulu ult only so much sort of thing. There are countless times where I score an S or a S+ but I lose the game.

I will say there is an elo hell. I just played a game where my jungler just left. We all hear the stories, so I am asking the community, how would you advise a top/support player with experience on getting out of bronze, or just elo hell in general?

I ask support mains, what champion pool should I focus on? I don't want to be a Bunny FuFu and just play Thresh all day. I take satisfaction and I have more fun in playing multiple champions and doing well with them. How many champions? I think part of the problem is I play all kinds that I don't really become really really good at most. There are some exceptions. I have a natural knack with Leona. She's my favorite.

I'm asking for help with the community! I hope I am not made fun of too much. I find it quite embarrassing on how long I have played this game and how I just can't get out of bronze.

That right there is your issue. You cannot depend on Bronze players to carry you, or you carry your ADC. It just doesn't work, sure, you can make your Lucian go 10/0 in lane, but a real bronze player doesn't know how to close a game. I look at lower elo, as TDM, where everything is focused on kills, nothing more. Then, you have higher elo, where Singed, Tryndamere, Nasus, etc, are just constantly pushing down gates and winning the game. This game is focused on one thing, that being killing the nexus. I can be 0/15 with singed, and still pressure top, and get the inhibitor. Score =/= effectiveness and usefulness.

You can add me on League, and i'll give you the best advice that I can give, i've helped 4 people get out of Bronze 5 0 lp in a week by just fixing common mistakes.

As a support main who has gotten out of bronze mostly supporting...... I will disagree mostly that supports can not get out of bronze.

That said, support wise Sona, Blitzcrank, Thresh, Leona, and Alistar are some ones you can work on focusing on, because all of them can potentially carry the game with even 1 other good player on the team. Me with an ADC that even half knew what they were doing (auto attack, move, repeat, mix abilities from time to time) would be able to 1v5 the enemy teams.

With Blitzcrank ive practically solo carried bot lane after the adc got d/ced.... Including in that game i soloed the enemy support, jungler, adc, and took the dragon they were going for as well.

Never think of a wide champion pool as a bad thing. I have aimed for and am pretty darn good with just about every single support when i want to be and when the ally adc follows up on my totally bs "i cant believe that even worked" plays.

Your ACTUAL main problem is likely just you might need to be a shot caller for your team..... Word of advice, do generic pings unless pinging that enemies are missing or for an ally to be careful that an enemy is coming. Generic ping on the dragon could have came from any ally.... So people if they are near by will listen to it and go to it..... The adc and mid think the jungler did it, so they come, the jungler thinks mid or adc did it.... So he comes.... All the while the support who will never get listened to at all will be the true mastermind.

Also, im in a discord group that is run by a Diamond 5 who, if you ask nicely, could potentially help you out with learning some of that macro and micro of gameplay in general..... So yeah, getting a bit of help to point out the more specific parts about the game sure does help as well.
