Is Riot's balance team ever coming back from their vacation?

Just wondering since they've been gone for a good five years now. Do they ever plan on coming back or did they make enough money the first few years to just be on permanent vacation?

The first years did not in any way shape or form have good balance.

If you just like nerfs what you want Is Morello.

I would take straight nerfs like Morello over this stupid shit of adding more damage instead of buffing correctly/reworking, and giving unneeded compensation buffs for the teeny tiny baby nerfs they give (most recent example, Pyke).

Balance in seasons 1-2-3 was pretty terrible thou.

I came in season 4, but didn't play ranked til season 5. I miss those days :( Where it didn't take 0.2 seconds to get one shotted, and had actual time to outplay. And COUNTERS actually did what they supposed to do- COUNTERED the enemy champ.

Sigh. I hate the current League.

Riot moved away from hard counters via champion matchups. Losing a game of rock paper scissors when you have to throw first is not very fun. Roles still have their overall pros and cons and individual match ups still make an impact but its not as dramatic as earlier years.

My opinion is the game would be better if Riot could make Competitive play for normal players about 5 man premade. No RNG of toxic players and better teamwork is rewarded.

Moba's are not made to be exclusively a solo experience.

The game was better when it had counters. Doesn't feel fair when I pick my Diana into an Ahri, who I used to shit on, only to get murdered by one charm combo.

Or my Annie, who was my #1 counter into Yasuo. Now I can barely do anything to him.

The game needs to go back to that.

LoL should just take a good look at other mobas and elements of them that actually work at this point to save itself, and spend time on a major calibration and/or overhaul of Runes, Items, Summoner Spells, how the damage-healing correlation works so it's healthier, towers/structures, how the jungle works, how certain effects work, how to better define what certain classes should and shouldn't be doing mechanically, etc... but it's just too big of a job to make the game into what it could be because that's too much work for those who just want the $$$
