@Riot, where is the "Post release support" you wanted to provide for Mordekaiser?

Malicious Metal··80 votes·16,833 views

Seriously, this rework's got a million flaws worth tackling in order to please everyone and yet we don't even get any response to our concerns coming with the same argument over and over and over and over again. "It's too early to judge Mordekaiser." No it's not, there are some pretty obvious flaws you'll be able to fix in a quick brainstorming session and please the loyal Mordekaiser mains and the newcomers learning the ropes of the Master of Metal. Couch Harvester of Sorrow needs some changes cough Showing us you care would actually be enough for me to shut up and cease putting up a Mordekaiser thread every day ^^''

The Renaissance painters took quite a bit from Classical antiquity, and back in those days a sign of intelligence and a cultured mind was a small... uh... "asset."

I don't think we've come to any particular decisions on this yet, but I will say that Meddler, Scruffy, Jag, and CertainlyT are literally right behind me talking about things we'd like to do for/about Morde for 5.17/5.18. I know it can feel like things don't happen fast enough sometimes, but "Morde post-release" has definitely not fallen off the radar.

I know you'd like to see exact action plans, but I don't think we're ready to commit to any particular change just yet.

How I'd love to simply Morde Ult you and make you spill all your secrets! D:

On a more serious note though, I'm glad you're actually working on Mordekaiser even though we don't get any insight just yet. While we're at it; any general direction you would want to change good old HueKaiser. Any specifics on eventual changes for SoloKaiser? T^T

I don't really have any specifics on planned changes at the moment, because there really isn't a concrete set of changes in mind at the moment. If something more concrete comes up, I'll try to pop into a thread and share that info.

I'm mostly just curious if you guys think it's possible to buff up solo lane Mordekaiser without making bot Morde too strong.

Stars Shaper3 votes

Do you guys still feel comfortable with the decision to removing his W from solo lane and the fact that right now Mordekaiser's "just" needs to hit his 3rd Q to deal the same damage he dealt with a full combo pre-rework?

I see major fallacies in this kind of damage shift because it's even more feast or famine.

GODAMNIT YES! His W needs way more Metal shards and his E does need some more spikes cracking the very earth beneath his victims to impale them on cold spikes of death!

Let's be honest though. Morde-post release discussion from Reds has most definitely fallen off the boards compared to how much talk was going on before. It is very clear that the Red claims regarding Morde's solo lane capabilities were laughably wrong and something should really be said to address those issues.

Silents4297 votes

Because most "discussion" was one sided. It was everyone complain and scream while the reds try to explain themselves.

Knalxz7 votes

Really because there were hundreds of creative posts that got ignored which sent people into a fury then back into a constitutive rant.

Hell even Stonewall made it known about how much he didn't like the new Morde, making RIP video for the old one.

Silents4292 votes

No, his video was about top lane Mordekaiser dieing, not his distaste for the new one. (this sounds stupid, but he didn't hate on the new one, just the idea of Mordekaiser not being a top laner)

He hasn't shared much on what he thinks of current Mordekaiser in depth outside of missing his go to top lane champion.

And it's REALLY hard to find the gem of discussion posts when you are being bombarded with shit posts, at that point no one should be surprised the certainlyT avoided discussion.

Chromatic Eagle2 votes

Has CertainlyT ever been a part of a discussion? He's one of the few I can't recall being here.

TurquoiseYoshi2 votes

He made one thread on the PBE boards and that was it.

Silents4291 votes

Why would you come here with the reputation he has?

Chromatic Eagle7 votes

To hopefully change the reputation he has, or at the very least add context to why he designs the way that he does. He'd probably improve as a designer if fans talked about what we like and dislike about his champions.

ForeverLaxx3 votes

He used to be part of discussions on the old boards, but most of his posts (when they were actually about the game, which was rare) could be summed up in "I'm a designer, and you're not. That means I know what I'm doing, thanks".

It sounds harsh, but that's how it was always interpreted. He does not handle criticism well and tends to believe that his designs were perfectly fine and it was merely a numbers issue whenever he inevitably let something bonkers out of its cage.

Mordepool2 votes

Not so. Actually it started as constructive thoughts about w effect on solo lane and some thematic issues. And then after some vague red responses they clammed up and ignored the community for 9 days and then we had good discussion after the release. Not saying riot didnt do good feedback for juggernauts but the Mordekaiser feedback never got off the ground. Blame the community for raging about being ignored for legit concerns if you want. Its in the past and we are moving forward

Silents4293 votes

You can view it as such, but majority of feedback was whines and complains, mass downvotes, and few people actually trying to discuss.

Anyone who dare agree with Riot or actually god forbid like the changes is downvoted to hell, and any Riot member not giving vague hope that maybe things will get better for the unhappy players was also downvoted to hell.

Whether or not the replies they got might contain discussion this is not a relaxed environment for them to be discussing anything regarding most changes.

Mordepool2 votes

The majority of feedback came after communication broke down. Doesn't take a genius to read the morde pbe time stamp for certainlyT. All he had to do was give a few reasons for his changes and show they were healthy for the champ and that would have went a long way.

Please don't try to force any sort of meta with more changes, I find being able to only play him bot extremely frustrating to play as, and from what I've come to expect, most people find it extremely frustrating to play against him and a good Leona at his side

the biggest appeal to Mordekaiser was that he could do a lot of things with success. You've made him more flexible than he already was build-wise (which is one of the things I think you guys got right), but his dependence on needing a teammate nearby to access an important aspect of his damage is just really frustrating and warping as an experience.

Do you have plans to make him more satisfying when he's alone and possibly less oppressive when near an ally? I think he has potential to be the first every-lane champion with actual success ( jungle/bot Mord were good before now, but still), he just needs a little fine-tuning on his numbers and usability

PLAY MORDE IN ALL THE LANES!!

Pretty much this; I'd love to being able for him to be my one and only main; being able to play him in every single lane and building him depending on the situation. This is actually one of the best parts about the rework; the limitless possibilities in terms of how to build the big guy :)

Big Lincoln4 votes

i've actually tried jungle mord before (a long time ago), it worked really well with his old W because of the high AoE damage letting you clear REALLY quickly. i'd love for him to have that same sort of power, or at least be able to access his sustain so he can power through it a little better

I think the good things about the rework are his E's dual scaling (making AD Mord even more appealing), his passive (the scaling gives him more incentive to grab some tank items), and being probably the champion with the single most versatile build options

I mean, honestly as much as I complain about his Q (3 hits being annoying, sound effects are shit idk why anyone likes it), it's at least a usable mechanic with semi-reliable counterplay. It's just the W that kills me internally; Mord is basically useless if his support backs or roams without him, but with them, he can literally 2v5, that's kind of absurd

should be 1v5 the dream :(

is it so bad to think the old one was a lot better?

i mean yeah the heal is good i guess, but i thought the armor/MR buff made more sense since a dude covered in armor is throwing more armor around himself

I want you to know that Mordekaiser is in fantastic shape. Except for his Q. That bad boy can easily destroy turrets and champions after 3 consecutive hits. Get a slow item and your set. (They can't get away, because even flashes don't stop his E.)

People love to abuse things that are powerful and his Q is one of them. Able to give bonus damage for each attack, the total damage is 260 + 360% AD + 260% AP in bonus damage (unlike most other three hit spells). True it costs health (that bonus health can over look) and has a cool down but it makes it even scarier to get close.

Now, not that I don't like his new passive (it is fantastic and makes his tank that more better) but if he is going duo one of his abilities needs to go back to its original and that's his passive or his W. Why his W? When in duo (especially when with a healer) it makes him harder to kill since he builds a healing item and has this spell (and can be healed by the support). His W honestly should be a one cast spell. Cast on one person to give bonus MS and a small heal (more heal if near enemies and way more heal if it hits a champion) for and after 3 seconds. Or it can still give to both but has a longer cool down to stop the constant heals. (Or just revert it.)

I would love for some of the damage from his Q to go to his E. I'd love for this spell to be better, especially in late, dealing more damage.

I love Mordekaiser, and tried playing him more and more before the update and after the update, I just feel that he may get very OP as I have found that he can still go in mid and win (not to mention top).

PS You the real MVP.

Big Lincoln6 votes

his Q doesn't do damage to turrets, just so you know

Rew7111 votes

Yes it does. If it didn't, his Q wouldn't do each stack (and animation). It also shows the difference in damage as the last hit deals a huge ton. (I've done it plenty times)

Big Lincoln4 votes

i just tried it

it doesn't, the animation/special attacks register, but you don't get any bonus damage

which is fair, sheen is absurdly strong, and you can always build AD if you want to take towers faster

The problem they have is that morde is pretty strong bot lane in solo queue, but no one really knows if or how that translates to competitive play, and if they don't nerf him they run the risk of him being pick/ban at worlds.

Any news on teemo? He's fallen off the map again. But this time in my opinion teemo mains are suffering since the changes. Riot said they would give some follow up if needed and I gotta say, it still seems needed. As it is I've already noticed his bouncing shroom mechanic not working all the time and auto's getting auto-canceled when you're about to stealth. Neither are very good mechanics but it would be nice if they at least worked. That's on top of him just feeling a lot more lacking now.

Morde has the highest win rate of any "ADC". He can't be buffed without some nerfs in other areas. They took him bot, and now he has to be balanced for bot. He is complete garbage in any role other than "ADC", but that's just the reality of new Morde.

Not asking for Buffs, hell no, some power shifts would be appreciated. He could use some tweaking targeted specifically to his solo lane prowess since his W's pretty much the worst contender about this rework ^^'''
