Anyone have experience with Mandrake Wards?

I keep seeing them pop on and off the PBE, but I've never had any experience with them. To be honest, I kind of like the cheesy little element that hiding in brushes brings to the game, and kind of like that it's a bit dangerous to check them. So, I'm not really inclined to like a weird little item that takes up a slot/money from other things that are more exciting, but which you sort of need to buy if you're being diligent. But, I haven't played with them at all so it's hard to be sure.

Anyone here have experience with Mandrake Wards on the PBE? If so, do you like them?

Um... Do you not ward? Because that's exactly what it is. And if you don't ward, then, well...

To answer your question though, I like them.

No, I do ward (actually more than most of the people who I play with; I'm only level 29 and I've had games where I played ADC and had the most wards placed). I'm just not sure I like feeling obliged to buy extra types of wards.

However, I wasn't sure so that's why I asked. If you say you like them, that's a reason for me not to feel concerned about it.

You certainly don't need to buy extra wards. They're just different. They give you less information against most enemies, but it's far cheaper. Against invisible opponents, it's invaluable. I foresee them darn-near killing pink purchases.

Oh geez, I didn't even think about the anti-stealth applications.

I suppose I should re-phrase my concern: I imagine that Mandrake wards take up an item slot like anything else? My item slots tend to get crowded, especially later in the game when I'm trying to build items 4-5. So, it just seemed a bit awkward to have 3 different types of wards to consider on top of that. But, if you say they're cool then I'll give them a chance :)
