Tahm Kentch 100% Slow Resist. Stormraider's Surge + Boots Of Swiftness.

Patch 6.1 included an update to Stormraider's Surge that gives it a 75% slow resist while active. Add boots of swiftness and you get a 100% alow resist, add Tahm Kench and his devour..and you get this.

Basically with a quick Auto/Q/Auto/Devour combo I suffered no slow from Devour while under Stormraider's Surge, and went from a 400 move speed to a 510. Note: you have to deal 30% of the targets max health so this is best on squishier champs or if you build a lot of HP/AP.

To dumb-ass people who thinks Stormraider's Surge needs nerfs after seeing this:

Okay, but let's be real here.

This person is playing against bots, who have no runes.

It's almost impossible for Tahm Kench to do 30% of a champion's maximum health in 2.5s without using his devour, and the movement speed is only broken if he gets it with someone inside him.

I doubt this will actually happen in a real game against people that have magic resistance.

Slow resist doesn't stack additively afaik it stacks multiplicatively like tenacity

xSleepy1/15/2016, 3:53:33 AM3 votes

the thing is most tahm players won't wanna take this i think, speaking as a tahm player myself the idea of being able to run super fast with an enemy carry in my tummy is enticing, obviously, but it's not practical: grasp is a much better keystone, and frankly your job as kench isn't burst, it's whittle. sure you can proc stormraider really easy by just devouring, but it's not worth losing the consistent healing you can get from grasp and the permanent tenacity on the resolve tree. kench needs the tenacity to get to the enemy, not to run away

Gee, thanks guy. I REALLY FUCKING APPRECIATE YOU TELLING ME THIS NOW I'M GOING TO GET HIS BROKEN ASS IN EVERY GAME.

Where's that hotfix nerf Rito?

Crossette1/15/2016, 3:01:29 AM2 votes

unintentional kench buffs, fuck xD

After the damage nerfs, I'd imagine Tahm would have much greater difficulty procing Stormraider- against a pretty Large Pool (good fish pun) of Champs--especially within the span of time that the slow would be of most use (peeling for allies).

I'm going to continue using the defensive keystones. I usually jungle with him, and the across-the-board usefulness of Strength of Ages' HP boost comes across as a lot more useful than a restrictive slow resist+speed buff. Boots of Swiftness already give a good chunk of slow resist so it doesn't matter to me much.

Really smart. Enjoy it while it lasts though. If riot's history is any indication, this will be patched. Riot doesn't like players coming up with unique / interesting ways of playing. For example, when people had the brilliant idea of playing blitz thresh lane. Rito didn't like that one bit, so it got fixed pretty quickly.

Not broken. Silly. But not broken because very short duration. And StormRaider's on TK may not be the best use of a keystone mastery.

Welp time to abuse this.

Haha making TK even more broken.

So many mistakes by the same soraka... My heart is broken

1- how much cs does she manage to get in that sequence ? 2-3 cs out of 3 waves ? A shame... 2- What is that build ? Who rush a nomad medaillon in a 1v1 lane ? 3- Why is she already 1 level behind ? 4- 0:35 she stuck herself in a huge wave of minions 5- 0:40 she do not starcall tahm dispite he is at near point blank range and she have a chalice 6- 0:44 She CC herself in order to starcall just while tahm is going for her 7- 0:44 Completly miss the starcall on a point blank target walking straight to her. It so easy at this range, it should be an instant crit 8- 0:46 Silence centered on tahm instead of her. IT would have been impossible for tahm to continue his combo if it was centered on her. 9- 0:52 burn her ult and walk toward tahm ? 10- 0:58 do not starcall tahm in the bush and keep csing like if he was not there... 11- 1:03 : see 6 12- 1:03 : see 7 13- 1:06 : dont bother to silence 14- 1:10 CC herself with a silence instead of just gtfo while tahm have no skill left up to silence anyway

Seriously, all I see here is a first time Soraka (prime healer) losing a solo lane against a tahm. If she was not CCing herself in the first place, tahm would never hit his AA first.

Interesting trick doe... sorry I couldnt help but to comment that Soraka

What an amazing find! That it significantly buffs his w.

Gubaguy1/15/2016, 2:19:04 PM1 votes

and suddenly no one cares about the "nerfs" coming to tahm. If you can actualyl consider them that.

SKOBODO1/15/2016, 2:48:27 PM1 votes

It's a fun trick, but it'll be hard to actually do 30% of their max hp in 2.5 seconds without using your W. It works best vs squishies, since 30% of 1500 is less than 30% of 2500. Still, in practice it won't really work that well, although you could spit them out and then run away or chase, I suppose.

Not trying to be a smart ass but do people really take storm raiders surge on any champion? I've never seen it since preseason started.

~~Well time to main tom ~~ actually this IS game breaking/really strong for a guy who eats people and goes slower then a turtle!
